A significant chunk of the essays turned in by my last couple of undergrad classes stank of AI. So I'm also leaning away from papers more toward testing. It sucks. Everything sucks.

I did see Tom Petty in Saskatoon in about 2010. It was fun; opening act was Joe Cocker, and I was initially terrified that he'd be terrible but he was fantastic. Part of it is seeing a band when you're young and wild VS when you're paying off a mortgage and babysitter, taking day off work. LOL.

My travel dream is to go to UK and have tickets to go see whatever show Jools Holland has put together at his amazing studio. I don't care who his guests are that night; I just want to experience it. Also I have never seen Bryan Ferry. It's tough having 70s and 80s icons on a bucket list. They die.

Worth noting, as Macklemore was banned by NFL owners in what will be dubbed "fighting antisemitism", that Kanye, who - sold merch with swastikas - said on Alex Jones that he idolizes Hitler - tweeted he was "going Defcon 3 on Jewish people" is currently on a multi-city tour of NFL stadiums

Every map search says where you live, work and sleep. For most Canadians, that map is American, and so is the company holding the answers. Maple Maps is the Canadian one. Built here, hosted in Montréal, Canadian-owned businesses marked with a leaf. No ads. No data sold. Ever. maplemaps.ca

Hi, I love beans too. Store locator says there are beans at the east end Sobey's in Regina (not sure where you are) and I have found the soups in Giant Tiger (also Regina). I'm currently ticked at my member-owned Co-op for no longer showing what is Canadian. Maybe @sherwood-coop could stock them.

Isn't this an opportunity for even more charity? Those that collect and sell the donated clothing could invite in various groups that really need clothing (people who sleep in shelters or camps or transition houses: let them in each week for free clothing, shoes, boots, coats - whatever is needed.

The only way the feds can enforce CHA is to reduce the transfer for a specific reason in a following year. It's been done as recently as 2023: I'm not sure it made provs comply. SK said it would not. Would be faster and more beneficial for voters in AB to vote that premier/government out next year.

Patchouli @mjpatchouli.bsky.social · 01/08/2026
That's what I am asking you. So you think the PM should cut funding to a province governed by a premier who is not complying?

Patchouli @mjpatchouli.bsky.social · 01/08/2026
What should the federal enforcement entail? Cutting off health transfers to a province of people whose governing premier who is not complying?

Patchouli @mjpatchouli.bsky.social · 31/07/2026
A thousand times yes. Do people think the PM can ground premiers? You voted your premier in. People in other levels of gov now have to work with your choice even if it's a different party. It can be dicey and nasty and awkward. Nevertheless: it's up to you to vote your premier out.

Let’s be clear here, when scientists say mistakes were made at the start of the pandemic, we DO NOT mean that we did too much. We mean not socially distancing quickly enough, not making tests widely available, and not acknowledging COVID is airborne and distributing N95 masks to everyone.

Why blame Chretien for 95? Had a referendum in 1980 (no side won 60%), after which PET appointed Chretien for the federal response to ref question - not ignoring. We went on to Meech Lake, Charlottetown Accord, finally, in 95, when No side won by just a hair. The Clarity Act resulted in 2000.
