Very good summary of the troubling changes for federally-regulated workers (and two good ones, tbh) in the omnibus legislation tables in parliament this week. www.thestar.com/business/why... "federally regulated" = the ~10% of the job market in transportation, ports, telcom, banking.

Why unions say Canada's new labour bill will make strikes 'all but impossible' in regulated sectors
Experts say Ottawa's Building Canada Strong Act hands the labour minister and government 'unchecked' authority to suspend strikes based on 'national interest.'

Lake Ontario's name comes from the Wyandot word Ontarí'io, which is typically translated as "beautiful lake". The Kanienʼkéha called it Katarokwi. Samuel de Champlain called it Lac de St. Louis. The name Lacus Ontario was first recorded in 1660 by Francis Creuxius.

Clearly a mistake to put so many eggs in the US basket. But can diversification be accomplished on the backs of small to medium enterprises? It’s hard for this non-economist to see that multinationals and foreign-owned businesses care at all about Canada’s economic independence and sovereignty.
