PSA: My doctor emailed me last week to say she's already seeing flu cases in her practice and to go ahead and get the shot. In the past she's advised to wait until later in October because efficacy wanes over time but this year she says go ahead and get it ASAP.

You likely won't be able to. There was a narrow window where some people managed to decrypt and unpack the preload. Basically they needed to have started their Steam client before the patched version was added to the preload, and not have the client check for that until after the game release time

Shame whoever pushed the launch day patch screwed it up on Steam and now we're mostly all re-downloading the entire game again. Hopefully remedial (ha!) training will be in the works before your next game release. I've seen the apology on your Discord server, that needs posting on all socials.

Check the user agents against actually recent versions of browsers... Works for me to defend one site the bots can't seem to get enough of. I triple hit them with robots.txt, this check to 403, and fail2ban triggering off those 403s.

Re: scraping. It's not only "oi! My IP, no free ride for you!". Enough of the scraper bots are just poorly written/operated that they'll easily bring smaller sites down without mitigations. One of "mine", with no updates in years, got *repeatedly* hit until I found a detection method.

I walked past this venerable stone gentleman on Dartmoor when I was beginning to write my first novel, Villager, and it whispered all 104,000 words of the book to me. So now I have to pay it all of my royalties. Unfortunately my ex-publisher stopped paying me royalties last year. Understandable, the boulder was not happy. But now I have a new publisher and the book has been republished. So remember if you purchase a copy you will be helping a boulder to eat, pay the rent on his riverside moss garden, and feed his boulder family.
