You fundamentally just cannot fight and win a war like this. There isn’t a military on earth that could effectively operate when your leadership is waffling back and forth on decisions on a daily basis for months on end. It’s not sustainable. None of this is sustainable.

I'm struck that it is Iran targeting USN ships enforcing the blockade that brings this response. It's the only legal thing Iran is doing!* It's treated as this unique breach, but it's not - the tanker strikes are worse, legally. *Striking US military bases would also comply with the LOAC.

Minor gripe of the day: I don't like the word 'popularizer' as a term for a scholar who communicates with the public. It sometimes isn't badly meant, but I've heard it said with venom (often with the word 'mere') too many times and it downplays the work that goes into actually doing it.
