Sometimes socially oblivious, or too direct. Over-explainer, but I'll still leave details out. Trying to lead with empathy and understanding above all else. Struggles with applications of Poe's Law.

One of the reasons for this is that the rhetorical figure of the trans child is never transfeminine. The trans girl is not a figure in the conservative lexicon because the transfeminine is a grotesquerie positioned always as a sexual threat to "real girls", and thus always adultified.
It is the latest development in a story ignited by a comment made by Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham, who said she wanted to protect young girls "who shouldn't have to go against biological men" in sport.

In contrast, transmasculine people are infantilized to strip them of agency, positioning them as reproductive and gestational resources who are being seduced, appropriated, "stolen" and led astray by the sinister [implicitly-male, implicitly transfeminine, implicitly violating] "trans agenda".

In the transphobic narrative gender-conservatives traffick in, the transfeminine spectre is a rapacious other while the transmasculine is a corrupted innocence. The dehumanization of both is distinct but linked; transmasculine people are regendered as a patriarchal resource to be protected.

The way this rhymes with anti-immigrant narratives isn't a coincidence; patriarchy is a social technology oriented around reproduction, both of hegemonic demographics and hegemonic values. Conservative calls to violence are always bolstered by a presumed threat against "their" "women".

Anyways, it doesn't make sense to call for someone to be thrown in jail when most people don't even know who he is. The crimes need to actually be suffused into the public consciousness, or you would just look vindictive. Doesn't mean prosecution's off the table, but I don't think it's a platform.

One of the most famous Blexas stories was when Beto made headlines as a D candidate driving around in a bus from county to county. It was hailed as amazing and innovative. And it was functionally equivalent to a third grader's lemonade stand for her teacher's chemo - indicative of a bigger problem.

There's no party support for organizing, so there's low engagement and turnout. Most activists are transplants in general, and most transplants are Republicans fleeing Commiefornia for a Texas Libertarian Mecca where taxes are historic fables. Nothing gets much motion outside small city protests.

Almost definitely not, no. I'd bet that most Texas voters don't even know that Paxton's been drowning in scandals and investigations for years. The big issue with Texas politics is how 'apolitical' everyone is, because the Democrats functionally abandoned the state after Richards.

I've known Texans who have been calling for him to be jailed for literal years. He's honestly done so many openly corrupt, illegal, and sometimes unconstitutional things that it's hard to keep track.

This is the man who decides how automated moderation treats trans people across this whole platform. On his own feed, with full control and 1,271 chances, this is what he built. Either he called it identity-blind and never checked, or he checked and shipped it anyway.
Grid where each small square is one of 1,678 accounts that replied to or quoted him, filled if blocked, grouped by the harshest post they sent. In every group the trans-identified row is more filled than the row for everyone else: 38% vs 16% for very mild, 47% vs 34% for mild, 71% vs 46% for moderate, 77% vs 59% for harsh.

Bluesky's Head of Trust and Safety handed his block list to a bot. 1,271 people blocked in eleven days. He says it never looks at who you are. Blocks are public, so I checked. Trans people were blocked at 2.5× the odds of everyone else, for posts of the same harshness. 🧵
Title card reading "Who the autoblocker blocked". Three figures: 1,271 accounts blocked in eleven days, against twelve in the two years before. 46% of the readable bulk-loaded accounts had never replied to, quoted or mentioned him this year. 2.5× the odds of being blocked for a trans-identified account, against others who wrote equally harsh posts. Below, a quote from Aaron Rodericks, 1 Oct 2026: "These do not factor in your bio or your identity. I have zero clue who you are."

This bit
If you think your favorite candidate enacted the correct political strategy, then there is no reason to berate trans people for protesting it, as those protests should already be baked into your candidate’s calculations. So why are you berating trans people then? (Unless, of course, you enjoy berating trans people just for the sake of it.)

Alternatively, if you think trans people *are* capable of tanking your favorite candidate via our criticisms and protests, doesn’t that imply that your candidate (and their consultants and strategists) totally fucked up in their political calculations here? And if they did fuck up, shouldn’t you be reaching out and complaining to *them* (rather than berating trans people), in the hope that they might reverse their bad decision?

No more than three masterpieces in a genre/medium combination. Nothing newer than three years old, because that's likely just recency bias. Not based on popularity, but craft of creation, or personal impact of art. Otherwise everything's a masterpiece, and that's an unworkable term of distinction.

"It's just sports and restrooms," you say. "Other people's issues are more important. You can hold on until after the election." It's a genocide. We're going through a genocide. We're not being shipped away on trains YET, but we're getting closer with every capitulation and failure to fight.
Infographic showing the Ten Stages of Genocide, divided into three sections.

Top section

1, Classification: People are divided into "us and them".

2, Symbolization: People are forced to identify themselves.

3, Discrimination: People begin to face systematic discrimination.

Middle section

4, Dehumanization: People equated with animals, vermin, or diseases.

5, Organization: The government creates specific groups (police/military) to enforce the policies.

6, Polarization: The government broadcasts propaganda to turn the populace against the group.

Bottom section

7, Preparation: Official action to remove/relocate people.

8, Persecution: Beginning of murders, theft of property, trial massacres.

9, Extermination: Wholesale elimination of the group. It is "extermination" and not murder because the people are not considered human.

10, Denial: The government denies that it has committed any crime.

There is a "we are here" note to the side in red, with a curly brace covering Stages 5-7: Organization, Polarization, and Preparation.

Yeah, see, that's just you doing a transphobia. If it's not immediately obvious why it's bigoted to do that, imagine maybe why you don't call them Latino. Like... you can just not be a bigot. Weaponizing your bigotry against 'double faced' people doesn't make it suddenly acceptable.

I am asking you not to use an accusation of being trans as an insult, because it reinforces anti-trans bigotry, the same way the people who are insulting her looks are reinforcing misogyny. She won't read this on Bluesky. She doesn't feel bad about hypocrisy. She's a MAGA shithead.

I suspect we're running into a language barrier. I'm asking you to consider the context of the thread, and then the context of your words. You are leveraging an accusation of her being trans as a negative character trait, because she would see it as a negative character trait. That's an insult.

It's the cornerstone of their philosophy. This whole thread is full of people saying "Haha, look how ugly she is!" It's just misogyny, but claiming it's liberal, somehow, because she's on the 'wrong team'. And here you are, implying that she's trans. How should a trans person take that comparison?

Merri @merri-cae.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Do you think that she would be upset to be called that? Would she agree with your your assertion that trans people are bad? What do you think the odds are of her seeing this, as opposed to trans people? Do you think fascist ideology cares about unequal or hypocritical treatment of others?

It was blatantly unconstitutional in Texas, he had no law instructing him to do this, and was acting entirely under assumed authority of the state AG in defiance of district courts. I'm quite certain that Ken Paxton believes that defending trans Texans IS the most vile, evil thing someone can do.

Ken Paxton asked DPS and HHS for a list of trans Texans, was told there wasn't one, so decided to deny court orders back around 2024, collecting court-ordered paperwork without recompense or receipt, attempting to make a list, without stating what reason or legal purpose he had for doing so.
