The World of Warcraft community remains mostly on Twitter. Very few came over to bsky or threads, wowtwit remains so much where it's at I'm still forced to go there to get screenshots sometimes. So Blizzard do have reason to believe if Forever turns into a Nazi bar most people will still stay anyway

The ignore cap needs to be lifted. There is no sane reason for it to be 50 players per character - and at that, not conveying at all anywhere whether or not it applies account-wide both ways. You also can’t even see the list of ignores from across your characters.

Ignores need to remove the response “Player is ignoring you.” There should be zero feedback.

If just these two things were implemented, it would solve a lot of issues people have with avoiding players they don’t want to play with, especially now with Certain Streamers making mega multi-guild networks in WoW Forever.

This isn’t even the beginning because clearly reporting functions just aren’t working and moderation is basically a bunch of smoke and mirrors to fool us. There are numerous people on RP servers who consistently are giving creepy whispers and just get away with it despite being reported constantly. There’s harassment and stalking issues where people are never banned.

And then there’s probably some of the most incompetent security ever implemented when it comes to player data. There’s numerous third party websites that can scan the armory and track every single one of your alts, all the more made easier for them with warband-ifying everything. People use mounts, pets, pet names, and other various collections to verify your alts so that they can continue to stalk and harass you because you chose a new alt because the reporting systems didn’t work.

The way we have any sort of privacy in this game is utterly laughable, and we now have streamers with massive cult fanbases who seem fit to test whatever rules they can break and how far they’ll go. They even target your own devs and harass them off of platforms. Is that not insane???

Something clearly needs to be done. I shouldn’t have to begin designing an addon myself to scan every single player’s guild to see if they match up and put them on self-crafted mute functionalities just to avoid being harassed in this game. Nobody should require third party solutions for this. This is a complete failure of Blizzard moderation tools and it needs to be fixed soon or you’re about to lose a lot of the “community” you keep trying to emphasize with WoW Forever.

sadly i think every single addon that seems to aim to block Olympus guild members appears to be vibecoded. They all seem to have sprung up 2 days ago around the same time so. I'll consider adding an actual mute function into Artificer that targets guilds but it has a lot of caveats

Unpopular opinion but I wish Warcraft Forever had a box price and / or a separate sub. I think it not having a box price and everything being under the same sub creates the incentive for predatory monetization with the justification of "hey, you're getting WoW Forever for free, so it's only fair."
