We’re ten episodes in to season six of Voyager which means it’s time for Galaxy Quest, the most Star Trek movie to ever do it. I saw it in theaters with my dad after only watching TNG with him, and it’s VERY fun to revisit after everything. Also just a great movie!

Thank you, I'm being so normal about this!!

It has been two years exactly since we started (re)watching all of Star Trek and we're about 2/3rds of the way through. (I did add Galaxy Quest to the list because it's canon as far as I'm concerned.) We're months behind on pacing, assuming 1 ep/day, but still not too bad!

Now we have two more seasons of Voyager, which I have seen and Dan has not. I recall really enjoying season 6 in particular, and watching any VOY now with TOS to compare it to has been outstanding. I'll die on the hill that they're essentially the same core show, and that's perfect.

DS9 gets a reputation for being good at dark and serious, and that's true! It maybe does it better than other series, but other series tackle big things too. DS9 fits right alongside the rest of them because it's the cast that makes it and keeps you coming back The plots are all over the place.

We finished DS9 last night. I really like Ezri, and think they made great use of that opportunity to explore her this season. They did good by the best ship, Miles and Julian, giving them a high-stakes spy adventure in the later episodes. Everything about the war felt both meandering and rushed.

Love the Voyager ep “11:59” because it’s just Janeway telling a story. No complicated setup, no convoluted time travel, no brain aliens - just Janeway and pals reminiscing about old family stories and not getting blown up for one week. Great!

It is also Yumi’s first birthday (observed)! I didn’t know her suspected birthdate until after we adopted her & Emi, but if any cat is a weird half-brained homunculus made from discarded blood it is her. She’s also the softest cat who is constantly surprised by her own existence, and I love her.

This time last year I had my first hospital stay and part of that was receiving blood transfusions since I had, uh, misplaced a lot of my own. We're still in a national blood shortage so this week might be a rad time to donate if you're able, so that people like me can continue to be a problem. 🩸💪🏻

We’re at VOY 5x07 “Infinite Regress” which is one of my favorite Seven episodes. Jeri Ryan does about a dozen different characters and they’re all incredible.
