I am not ready to have another cat. This year has been too hard. Today I am going to visit a cat rescue with the intention to volunteer there. I plan to leave without bringing a cat home with me. I can’t see what could possibly go wrong.

My sister in law died of cervical cancer last Christmas aged 41 leaving my brother a widower with 3 children aged 7, 6 and 2. This is amazing news. Vaccines are incredible. I wish it had existed when we were younger, how different things could have been.

Back at work for 2 weeks now & I’m still continuing to prioritise my mental & physical health. 5 miles walked & gardening in the sunshine yesterday (first dahlia has finally flowered) & today has been a day of finishing the most beautifully magical book & avoiding the rainy world outside.

I’ve had 2 days at work & both days I have come home & exercised. It’s early days of the new year but I’m determined that this year I am going to be fitter, healthier and happier. The last couple of years have been horrendous. Got to get the old me back as much as possible because I miss her.

Best way to get children reading is to read the books they recommend and recommend books to them. Finished this yesterday - it was recommended to me by one of my Year 5 class just before the summer holidays & it was brilliant! I’ve now ordered Black Hole Cinema Club… @christopheredge.bsky.social
