Thinking this morning about how a lot of cars have a terrible reliability reputation mainly because some Youtube with 8 million followers called The Spanner Twats buys the absolute shittiest cheapest one they can find from an actual criminal and it inevitably explodes the very next day.

Once upon a time I bought programs that came in a box. I would install them on the computer and there they would stay until I uninstalled them. They worked the same way every day. I didn’t have to worry about some guy in Seattle or San Francisco rearranging the buttons and menus overnight.

The bloody automatic school gate closed on me this afternoon during pickup! The SD card in the Dash cam was apparently faulty too. Not worth making an insurance claim over which means the poor car now has another battle scar to go with the front bumper scrape I did on Saturday. 🤬

Rear bumper of my Suzuki Vitara after getting squished by an automatic gate. Minor damage, not worth claiming on insurance. Some slight scuffing and the plastic is pinched in, misshaping it.

My family has Dutch heritage, you can tell because this is what my brother’s shed / workshop looks like.

My brothers bike collection from a few years ago, these are all ridden on a regular basis.

A ridiculous row of bikes are lined up hanging from a wall, along with multiple spare frames and other parts.

Finally swapped out my old Chinese made rubber for some new… Chinese made rubber 🤣 These Primacy 5s are whisper quiet though, much better road feel too. Also I love having a 50 profile sidewall, so comfy!

The OPALS RH888 tyres that the Majesta came with, fitted for compliance reasons. From my research these are / were the cheapest 235/50/17 tyres available for purchase at the time, at around $65 AUD a tyre. Incredibly noisy on the highway and zero lateral grip, they also become drift missiles in the wet.

Michelin Primacy 5 tyres now fitted to the Majesta. They suit the character of the car much better, almost silent at speed and with excellent grip in all conditions.

Kids are finally old enough to start cracking open some of my favourite games for family game night. DOS2 is first up. Side note, it’s wild to me that Larian made this game run on an iPad and be cross platform compatible with PC. We’re playing on Linux, Windows PC and an iPad Air m2.

Divinity Original Sin 2 loaded up and ready to go on iPad and the media PC for some multiplayer goodness.

Just had a run up the freeway and back this evening, got some surprisingly great fuel economy out of the Majesta. 11.6km/l which is 8.6l / 100km, 27mpg US, or 32.7mpg UK. Now if only the price hadn’t just jumped 20c per litre in the last couple of days…
