"Signs of Fascism" originated in my town. (Sequim, WA) I filmed it. I remember getting a call, "hey your video got 5,000 views." By the end of the day it had 60K. Over 100K in a few days from just one platform. Then my DM blew up! Everyone wanted to replicate the signs. Nice to see the signs today.

A humanist guide to detect nonsense
Here's the text from the infographic:

Carl Sagan's Baloney Detection Kit
A humanist guide to detect nonsense

1. Confirmation of Facts
Always seek independent evidence. Don't rely solely on what a single source tells you.

2. Encourage Debate
Encourage substantive debate on the evidence by knowledgeable proponents of all points of view.

3. Question Authority
Authority is not a substitute for evidence. Perhaps a better way to say it is that in science there are no authorities; at most, there are experts.

4. Spin More Than One Hypothesis
Consider alternatives. If you stick with one idea, you're more likely to interpret new evidence as confirmation of your own theories.

5. Look Beyond Your Own Hypothesis
Be willing to abandon ideas that don't hold up to scrutiny. If you don't do this for your own hypothesis, others will.

6. Quantify Where Possible
If whatever it is you're explaining has some measure, some numerical quantity attached to it, do so. You'll be much better able to discriminate among competing hypotheses.

7. Every Link in the Chain Must Work
If there's a chain of argument, every link in the chain must work (including the premise) — not just most of them.

8. Occam's Razor
This convenient rule-of-thumb urges us when faced with two hypotheses that explain the data equally well to choose the simpler.

9. Beware the Unfalsifiable
Claims must be testable and able to be proven wrong. If they can't be falsified, they're outside the realm of science.

Yes, this is Britain. It helps to understand that all of this pure unimpassioned reason was sold to the public as cold common sense, in a war against threatening ideological insanity.
give you an idea of how British politics has degraded into deranged radical-right lunacy, just consider what the public reaction would have been had a politician in the 60s or 70s proposed the following:

A bar graph that shows horizontal lines of either blue or red over time. In the past, the majority of bars was blue, with isolated red lines indicating hot summers. For the more recent years, roughly a quarter of the timelime, the bars are predominantly red, with isolated blue ones thrown in.
