BACKROOMS: I loved it. The vibes, the dread, the tension building, the world building, it’s all so well done. The character work is shaky and the narrative goes to some silly places, but I admire a lot of the risks taken here. Also I got emotional seeing found footage in a big release like this

I have sat face to face with detainees inside Delaney—high schoolers, elderly folks, a pregnant woman, people detained while waiting for court hearings. They told us the horrible conditions they face: lack of medical care, moldy food. Delaney Hall needs to be shut down.
