luckily my config is relatively simple so reformatting and installing truenas over again wasn’t such a hassle. everything important is on separate nvme and hdd pools which weren’t impacted. but that wasn’t how i wanted to spend half my day that’s for sure lol.

i seemingly blew up my truenas instance today by Doing Too Much with it. i was getting insane io wait times, all 32 threads maxed out, containers hosed left and right. ultimately, i think rebooting the thing is what killed it. because after that, it just would not boot past the grub menu.

By my read the Meta settlement essentially REQUIRES Meta to continue and expand its corporate surveillance and data harvesting. It requires meta to "invest" more in its "behavioral" age assurance system, ie monitoring everything you do on the platform and trying to figure out if you might be a teen
