I really hate Samsung Software

Google Play Store update page. The only app listed is the "Galaxy watch6 Plugin" which for some reason needs 91MB to update, and lists the following changes in it's patchnotes: "fixed the error"

A great writeup of the "federation" bsky currently has. I'll continue using the fediverse as my main source of social media. I am already happy with the content there and care more about getting the social web into mainstream than to be a bit more entertained today dustycloud.org/blog/how-dec...

the new ICEs from DB have a great feature to enrich your fedi browsing experience ✨😂

📣 PSA: before trying to send code to merge into aosp (especially if you are implementing a gigantic feature) you need to have had a conversation with someone about it, or you may end up wasting a bunch of your time. Come to think of it, this is just a good practice for code bases you don't own.

this is the key insight threads assumes that people are coming to a platform like twitter/bluesky/threads to see the same sort of influencer content as instagram, and what people are actually here for is the content of Very Online sickos you have to make a platform the sickos want to post on

"can you currently (ie: today) use bluesky on 100% third party infrastructure?" it's a very simple yes/no question ---- if the answer is yes: prove it if the answer is not yet: how long? days? months? years? debates? if the answer is no: I am not interested in building community here

Iteresting read by @melkat.blue melkat.blog/p/hosting-bskyI might still deploy a PDS somewhere just to play around, but the social web (as in the fediverse, lol) looks like it's the only true federated system we really have rn. I'd like the AP standard to improve and thrive, not bsky or AT

Don’t favor your services or sell Android The US DOJ is going full steam ahead to basically dismantle Google, not just them selling Chrome, but also possibly selling Android

What's the general opinion on selfhosting a PDS atm? I want to try bsky next to mastodon, and would prefer owning my data from the start. I have a k8s cluster at home running on arm nodes. Will my server be bombarded, or is a PDS selfhostable at home?

To be clear, we do have plans for scaling, we just kinda expected more than a couple days notice before getting blasted with a million new users a day. The team is rapidly deploying fixes and new software to adapt. More servers in the mail.

German #GameDeveloper and publishers on #Steam should take a look if they have filled the age rating form. Otherwise your game might look like this in the store front: Better double check! #GameDev #IndieDev

Many games on Steam are removed due to not filled an age rating form. The screenshot shows that games are removed from the German store front then.

Email saying: "Dear Professor Binns:

My grandson, who is in high school here in Puerto Rico, is trying to access your article, Ethical Challenges in AI-Driven Decision-making. I believe it was printed in the Journal of Ethics and Technology in 2020. He has searched everywhere, but cannot find a copy. Can you direct him?

I apologize for troubling you, but would be most grateful if you could help"

something driving me up the wall about too much of the current coverage of Trump’s insane nominees is the credulity “give them a chance, they might not be as terrible as they’ve been their entire lives or do the awful shit they explicitly promised” there’s optimism and there’s being born yesterday

So I've been using openvibe for about a day, and two thinga are really making it hard to enjoy. 1. Performance. Both the bluesky and Moshidon app work flawlessly and I feel the 120hz my phones screen can handle. Openvibe feels like 60fps max, and it's really frustrating

Hey folks, a reminder: Don't use Gen ai. You can either afford an artist/stock art, or you can't. If you can't, you can make your own art/designs or abstain. Or you can cheaper your entire brand and communicate to your audience that you peddle low-effort garbage by using a plagiarism machine.
