AI is weaponized unreality. It’s important we understand this quickly bc it is the reason fascists are the biggest AI boosters.

Do the men in the group chat like each other, I wonder-these men expressing such unmistakable, unrestrained glee as they stain their souls forever and ruin their classmate's life. I can't decide whether they're more odious if the answer is yes or if it's no, but I can't dismiss the question as unimportant, either. These fraternities that the public rarely hears about, except when their members kill or rape: do they foster the bonds of friendship or just cheaply mimic them? When some ex-frat boy needs a lawyer or an introduction to a senator later in his life, when that boy digs through the network of other boys for a hookup, what is the nature of the bond he's leaning on? I want to diagnose it. I'm the naive fool who believes that in diagnosing it, I can cure us all of it.

Pretty clear to me there’s a very good case against this man for mass murder, and I’m saying that in as measured a fashion as I can. He’s order the killing of 234 people under no plausible war or legal justification. I am skeptical he will ever face legal accountability for til his but he should.

What if Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, but for basic facts and official government records? When you understand AI hype this way it makes sense of why fascists and gangsters and technofeudalists are obsessed with imposing it on the public. Weaponized unreality.

One of the things to come from GamerGate was the gamification of torturing real, live women...hounding them out of their homes, making them look over their shoulders for years. It was treated as a joke, nbd, the work of a few bad apples--as all terrorism against women is--& that failure leads here.

If I had gotten hit by a car to get this photo it would have been worth it
A man in a black helmet and khaki motorcycle gear rides his motorcycle down a street in Manhattan. In the motorcycle’s sidecar, a dog that looks like a heeler mix stands at attention with his front paws up on the front of the sidecar, his eyes protected by a set of khaki motorcycle goggles. The dog is wearing a harness that sort of looks like a biker vest. He appears to be having the time of his life.

617 days into his 2nd term, Trump's Department of Transportation has *still* not approved a single new transit project for full funding. The problems I highlighted in March—how this lack of funding only makes projects cost more & delays completion—have only worsened www.urban.org/urban-wire/r...
There have been no approvals for new transit projects in the entire 2nd Trump Administration. This graph, produced in March 2026, remains accurate now, in September 2026.

Precisely. All you have to do is walk around any public space to realize people do not move or behave as designed/intended. Even with the best wayfinding signs in airports, roadways, museums, restaurants, etc. lots of ppl WILL take wrong turns, be confused, or not see the restroom sign.

Believe it or not, a lot of people do not have to-do lists. And the the lists many of them have are not structured for an ai agent to be helpful. This isn’t groundbreaking. If you have ever watched the evening news or read even a single story about people who aren’t like you, it is pretty basic

Personal example — Siri Shortcuts for the last 4 years, I’ve basically felt: “huh, not as useful as the marketing indicates. And trying to set up one or two shortcuts has only convinced me that I have vanishingly few truly repeatable actions so no “automation” is worth this initial effort.”

Technology enthusiasts severely overestimate the average person’s desire or willingness or capacity to build and use AI agents. I understand some work roles that could mandate or encourage it but that is no way a tech revolution. Agents are best for structured, clearly delineated tasks.

ICE is now lying in wait outside convenience stores, or at busy intersections. Agents are arresting people at international airports. Local police and sheriffs, deputized by the federal government, are detaining immigrants during traffic stops. ICE is now detaining more immigrants than ever before.
A chart that shows a timeline of ICE immigration enforcement against different significant events (Los Angeles raids, Minneapolis and Chicago raids), with a line in late March 2026 that says "New enforcement strategy begins" before a peak of over 1,500 daily arrests in July 2026.

Gone are the mass raids and militarized metro operations. Gone are the pomp and pageantry. But ICE arrests have hit record levels. ICE operations are no longer concentrated in large American cities. Immigration enforcement officials are also working in suburban and rural areas, all across the US.
A map of the United States that shows immigration arrests per 100,000 people since ICE's new enforcement strategy began under DHS secretary Markwayne Mullin.

My wife and I were on the mountain for the Cycling World Champs in Montreal & witnessed McNulty’s courageous win, aided by Matteo Jorgenson. The vibe on the course was incredible! And fans from all over cheered McNulty bc if an American won, at least it wasn’t redass Quinn Simmons. 🤣
