Reading has become an endangered species. Which is half the problem with American political life. Maybe more than half. If you can't read, you can't think. Then you can fall for anything. The idea, for instance, that the truth is fake news.

Comic 4 panels
Panel 1: Some day we won't even need coders any more. We'll be able to just write the specification and the program will write itself
Panel 2: Oh wow, you're right! We'll be able to write a comprehensive and precise spec and bam, we won't need programmers any more!
Exactly!
Panel 3: And do you know the industry term for a project specification that is comprehensive and precise enough to generate a program?
Um… No…
Panel 4: Code
It's called code

Look at that, Safari continuing to hold back the web development platform. Do they get some prize for doing this? Roughly SIXTY-SIX missing feature all the other browsers have that Safari doesn’t! WTF Apple?! web-platform-dx.github.io/web-features...
Explicit resource management
Limited availability
The using and await using declarations and the dispose and asyncDispose symbols manage the lifecycle of resources such as file handles and streams. The DisposableStack and AsyncDisposableStack objects can group, dispose, and coordinate dependencies between multiple disposable resources.

What is so wrong with having AI *help us program* instead of replacing us as programmers? Is programming really that bad now that we’ve needed to avoid doing it but just couldn’t till now?

Another benefit of GTS vs other authoring... No "hooks need to be run at first render". Walking through some React code lessons and seeing `useEffect` or component boundaries added just to get around this limitation. In GTS as long as you're not in the teardown you can reference new reactive state

"Hay que usar la IA en nuestros desarrollos"
Meme comparando “Programar en 2022” con una función sencilla en JavaScript para comprobar si una palabra empieza por mayúscula, frente a “Programar en 2027”, donde la misma tarea se resuelve importando el SDK de Anthropic, creando un prompt kilométrico y llamando a un modelo de IA con 50 millones de tokens. Porque aparentemente mirar str[0] ya era demasiado mainstream.

Teaching software engineering has officially FAILED! If you notice most devs of a certain age say AI will help but not replace developers. Meanwhile, younger devs seem to claim AI will eliminate developers. There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of software engineering happening here.
