Being GenX/Millennial is such a trip. In our lifetimes, we saw people our age getting wild criminal penalties for pirating music and now have to sit and watch as companies gobble up our work with impunity.

Rather difficult not to feel a bit gloomy about the state of the country atm, so I wasn’t going to make much of a thing of this anniversary this year. And then I saw this and started to cry. Because a free and united Germany in a free and united Europe was worth it. And is worth fighting for now.

Stopped in Nantes on our way south and was pleasantly reminded of what a fabulously bonkers city this is. Hadn’t been in years, and I must revisit it properly.
Giant artwork of a yellow tape measure in a courtyard of modern brown buildings Huge mechanical elephant in an industrial hangar Old-fashioned carousel consisting of unusual and steampunk rides including a green and red boat Building with an unusual façade resembling a bird’s nest or a wall of shredded paper.

This is actually a perfect illustration of how X-brained the Tories have become. Cleverly is listening to the bots and wankers of fash social media and mistaking them for the majority position. I've barely met a Londoner who doesn't basically approve of ULEZ. The Tories badly need to touch grass.

As ever I would point out that this is good landscape management and there is nothing 'wild' about it and until we stop calling it 'rewilding' people will continue to operate with the ludicrous romantic assumption that 'nature' is self-healing and that human intervention is bad.

Bill Oddie on "kids' programmes".
BILL ODDIE
"'Ere, didn't you used to be Bill Oddie ?" Taxi drivers ask this every day. "Ain't seen much of you on telly lately." I then point out that sett? ally I'm on right now in a new series called From The Top. When I tell them it's on at 4.45 they say ' Oh . . . a KIDS' show." Their lips curl with disdain and they drop me off as soon as possible. "Why," taxi drivers ask. "don't you do some more Goodies? I used to like that.' Funny thing, people who didn't like the Goodies used to call it a kids' show. So what's so great about being "adult"? Do you know there are adults out there who think the characters in Eastenders are real (aren't they? Ed.). There are "adult" viewers who con! sider The Jimmy Cricket Show and the Grumbleweeds the height of sophisticated humour. There are "adults" who are enthralled and entertained by the spectacle of four other "adults" pouting and sulking like a bunch of spoiled two•ear-olds in Full House. There are "adults" who have never watched Channel Four. And there are adults who consider not only the Goodies but also The Young Ones, Alas Smith and Jones, Kenny Everett, Who Dares Wins and even Monty Python as, you've . guessed it — ch Kids' shows? Certainly insofar as they are surely, amongst "kids " favourite Wilmes. Am I right? l only goes to show what good taste you all' have. Please don't grow out if it!

Have the British public always been so self centred? I’m staggered by how many people I’ve seen saying ‘I don’t use buses so what good is that?’ Or ‘pubs aren’t for me so who cares?’ Millions of people do use each and they are both pretty vital for our economy and society
