This is not normal behaviour, & it makes Starmer look weak, not strong. Backbench MPs historically only had the whip removed (cast out of the PLP) for serious personal misdemeanours. I’m supporting the nationwide day of action calling on the richest to PAY UP. In 2024, UK billionaires added £35 million per day to their wealth. Meanwhile, Brighton & Hove Council has an estimated funding gap of £17.2 million. The money is there - time to tax it fairly.

Scrapping the two-child benefit cap is the "cost effective way" of getting 500,000 children out of poverty, according to former Prime Minister Gordon Brown. He's right. Child poverty is and always has been a political choice. Labour should remove the cap immediately.
