I got to work early that morning. I was working on an inspection and repair contract for the George Washington Bridge, and my deadline was imminent. I remember a colleague excitedly saying a plane had hit the World Trade Center. I immediately dialled my project manager…

What are your thoughts on the New Routemaster bus, a three-door, two-staircase hybrid bus? 🚍🤔 Was it a success for bus services in #London? Should the open platform and second crew member have been kept? Should there be a new bespoke bus to replace it?

I cycle my kids to school everyday, but I shouldn’t have to. I should be able to trust that they can get to school safely on their own just as I did when I was a kid. Our route to school has definitely improved over the years, but we still have a ways to go. Here’s to hoping it improves soon!

Broke a rib 3 weeks ago, so I haven’t been able to run. Going slightly stir crazy, so decided to just power hike instead. Oxted to Seven Oaks (13.25 mi) in 3:45! Mostly on trails, which was nice. Loads of bluebells.

This is a huge issue in London. We’ve had four bikes stolen in 10 years. Obviously just my experience, but I had zero bikes stolen in NYC over the course of 12 years. I really feel this is down to the fact that there is practically zero consequence for bike thieves in London, and they know it.

A photo of Mildmay Park station on the North London Line that opened in 1880 but that was closed as early as 1934. The building, as seen here, was used for retail purposes until demolition in c.1987. You can still make out the station name at parapet level along with typical Victorian station architecture; brick with arched windows. To the right, on the bridge parapet, a large billboard advertises the Mail on Sunday. To the left, a red telephone kiosk and a parked orange car.
