Flying is officially on course to account for *almost all* the UK's carbon dioxide emissions by 2050. Heathrow expansion alone would cause more carbon emissions by 2054 than *any other sector of the economy*. So why is it being contemplated? My column. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

A third runway would fly in the face of reason. If we are to prioritise human life over short-term ‘growth’, we need to use planes less, not more, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

The language of 'defensive' support is a smokescreen - the PM has committed the UK to this conflict Thousands have been killed by the Saudi-led coalition. Weddings hit, markets destroyed. International Humanitarian Law breached. The UK must not back the murderous Saudi regime.

Saw Le Vent du Nord (from Quebec) tonight. Saw them 2 years ago for the first time after listening for 20 years. Such an amazingly talented band and really uplifting. All in French. Violins. Hurdy Gurdy. Accordion. Foot tapping. Gorgeous ensemble and harmony vocals. Looks effortless. GO SEE THEM

It’s fun how there was a guy at the heart of politics who everyone knew was such an enormous crook and malicious bastard that they nicknamed him “the Prince of Darkness”, and then it turned out he was sharing confidential government info with Russian oligarchs and an infamous sex trafficker.
Lawson was an early enthusiast for New Labour
- "I thought the Labour Party needed to be modernised and changed" - and even did a stint
with Peter Mandelson, working on strategy in the 97 Millbank operation.
"Jesus, God, what a brilliant organiser!" he says of the 'Prince of Darkness' who recently became
darker still. "I was never that particularly close to him, but I could see why people were impressed." (Asked later whether he feels sorry for Mandelson, Lawson says yes, explaining: "I'm on the soft left - I'm quite soft emotionally as well as politically.")

Working on a really cool exciting new feature for @shareshot.app and enjoying the feature design part though it is always tricky. "We could do X" vs "Yes but will people use it, will results look good and will it be easy to understand?". Really the three pillars of how we approach things.

AppleCare One must be purchased with your iCloud Apple ID. Otherwise you cannot add devices to it. So if you have a company email address that must order devices, but a different ID for iCloud, it just won't work. So you have to pay personally and expense AppleCare. Super annoying.
