This uncertainty is intentional, and it is (apart from the climate) detrimental to EU consumers & economy. It creates the impression that driving or buying a combustion car is still OK. Fewer new EVs now = fewer used EVs in 2030 = EU keeps spending money on fossil fuel import instead of EU clean ⚡️.

We have to wait another ~10 days for all EU countries' reporting via ACEA, but I've got you covered. Using countries making up >80% of the market and a simple assumption of the rest, it looks like sales of BEVs in the EU reached 30% last month, and 23% so far this year.

Si les marques xineses dominen els mercats de manera creixent és perquè, a diferència de les europees, es miren les previsions dels mercats. Les europees les han menyspreat, i ara es troben que no poden vendre els seus cotxes de combustió i, alhora, que no tenen prou cotxes elèctrics per vendre.

My experience today at a Chinese brand car dealership. -It has been open in my city for less than three months. -This brand only sells EVs. -Nearby it’s plenty of “traditional“ car brands. -Only 4 different models for sale. 1/2

Encore: the European brand I bought from in 2022 is selling essentially the same car. The Chinese brand is offering a car 50cm bigger, twice powerful, 80km more WLTP range and 3x charging power. And 10 years or 200,000 km warranty vs 3 years!!

The biggest problem incumbent car manufacturers are going to face (or are in fact facing right now) it is not EVs replacing ICE sales, it’s ICE sales falling way faster than EVs sales rise.

What's more, in the period April-September, retail sales of BEVs in China are *UP 1%*. If you see commentary saying sales of EVs in China are down, consider that most commentary talks about NEV (BEV+PHEV) as EV in China.

Here's what you need to know. Sales of full-electric (BEV) passenger cars are down less than 5% so far this year, compared to much larger declines in both full-ICE (down >30%) and PHEV (down >25%) cars.

Que el 50% de les vendes de cotxes a la Xina (primer mercat mundial) siguin elèctriques (BEV) és com si.... TOTES les vendes (el 100%) a la UE fossin elèctriques! El 2025 es van vendre 11 milions de cotxes a la UE i 24 milions a la Xina.

El nou Omoda 5 està en versió combustió (PHEV) i en elèctrica. La versió elèctrica és més barata que la combustió. Però els concessionaris (i les marques) vinga a promocionar els PHEV. Perquè després al taller et trauran la pasta, amb el manteniment addicional.

Feels like not enough people are aware of how fully cooked the internal combustion engine is. My mum's old diesel Honda currently costs £120 to fill up, on which it'll do just under 300 miles. My sister's EV costs £6 for a full charge which will take her 280 miles.
