Only one Touchdown plus Field Goal required for this #NFL game to exceed in one match #Spurs’ entire points total for last season. #letsalllaughattottenham

TIL that Rod Stewart has made five - yes five - showtune / jazz standard cover albums, plus a Soul/Motown cover album and a Classic Rock cover album. What a lad. Not content on sitting on his millions, he invests some of it into making records for his own fun and enjoyment. Marvellous. Bravo Rod.

The Belgians in our hotel shuttle were probably not expecting their English co-passenger to tell them (in Dutch) that he loves bikes and trams but there you go.

This year’s #superleague season has been special. Two genuinely hardworking teams have made it to the Grand Final and a new name on the trophy has been guaranteed. Both clubs have been the most consistent, Wakefield probably edging it in terms of excitement and lore. It’s gonna be a great final.

Surely I can’t be the first to have thought of this?
A political campaign poster of Andy Burnham in the iconic 2008 Shepard Fairey Hope poster style. High-contrast stencil portrait, block shading, stylized geometric mid-tones. Limited color palette of deep navy blue, light blue, cream, and vibrant red. Burnham is wearing his signature glasses and looking off into the distance. At the bottom, a solid dark blue block contains the text "EH UP" in a bold, clean, capitalized sans-serif font. Retro vector illustration, political pop art.

When you're constantly just trying to keep the lights on and put food on the table, you don't have the time or energy to fight the system. Keeping people hanging on by a thread isn't a policy failure; it's how they keep us too tired to push back.

According to Nigel Farage, Iceland being in the EU Single Market, having free movement of people and belonging to Schengen is perfectly compatible with national independence. I look forward to him endorsing the same independence for the UK: back in the Single Market, with free movement and Schengen

The frustrating thing about Helmet Discourse is that the correct answer is "let people make informed decisions even if you don't like their choices" but people get so entrenched & weird about it that it's very difficult to trust information about it to be unbiased & relatable to your circumstances.

There are is a generation of outer Londoners who see ULEZ as one reason they will hate Khan forever. That same generation's grandkids are healthier, in some cases ALIVE, because he has consistently been brave enough to do policy not politics on this city's air quality. an extraordinary legacy.

One thing about speeding that many drivers refuse to accept: In urban and suburban environments, speeding doesn't even get you somewhere significantly faster. You are just getting to your next red light or highway choke point faster. You are endangering other people for almost no upside.

Since everyone’s arguing about speed cameras, let’s keep a couple facts in mind: 1) Research show that camera enforcement is much more popular than the media implies – in suburbs as well as cities. Lesson: Don’t conflate a few angry car owners with “public opinion.” (cont'd)

Automated Traffic Enforcement Is More Popular Than You Think
Cameras that ticket drivers who run red lights and speed are effective and widely popular with city residents. So why are they banned in so many places?

I really hate the word "jobsworth." Sure, some people use rules to be obstructive. But often it just means "somebody I don't respect who won't give me my own way for reasons I don't understand, don't care to understand or that they can't explain to me right now because they're busy or scared of me."

Spot the difference. We didn't 5x the Cycleways network in London overnight. It took vision, hard work, & the conviction to invest in green infrastructure - often in the face of vocal opposition. In 2016, we had 90km of Cycleways. Now we're at 450km. That's progress. And we're not stopping there.
Graphic with the headline, “London’s cycle network is now five times larger than in 2016.” The upper map is labelled “BEFORE 2016” and shows London with a small number of bright green cycle routes concentrated around central London. The lower map is labelled “AFTER 2026” and shows London with many more bright green cycle routes extending across central and outer London.
