Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan @london.gov.uk · 12/08/2026Spot the difference. We didn't 5x the Cycleways network in London overnight. It took vision, hard work, & the conviction to invest in green infrastructure - often in the face of vocal opposition. In 2016, we had 90km of Cycleways. Now we're at 450km. That's progress. And we're not stopping there. 25785167

Andy Dickinson @arnosgrove.uk · 14/08/2026Londoners moaning there’s not one down their street. Meanwhile in the funding starved East Midlands we’re still mixing it with Brexity van drivers and elderly Mail readers. Well done Mayor Khan - have a word in Claire Ward’s ear next time you meet. 000
Amalia @ollied68.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Don’t show this to a Brexiter. They may think it’s because of the Brexit vote. 000

GManRom @gmanrom.bsky.social · 01/09/2026There's a few cycle tracks in Greater London that can be reinstated to increase this network www.britishcycletracks.com/cycle-track/...britishcycletracks.comSouthend Arterial Road, 20+ Miles Romford to Southend“Here is the Southend Arterial Road on a wet day,” intones the snarky narrator of a police road safety film released in 1947. 1124
Niamhisanam @niamhninia.bsky.social · 12/08/2026We need more for sure, particularly in outer boroughs but on the whole the quality of the infrastructure is pretty good. Recent cycled across Paris and it’s confusing and circuitous at times despite being much lauded and in a city with far more straight roads. London’s is quite well signposted too. 000
Chris Laumer @tendersombrero.bsky.social · 12/08/2026This is good, but there's so much more to do. Paris under Anne Hidalgo managed to get to ~1700 km of cycleways. Lots of places in London where it still feels unsafe to bike. Chasing just the easy wins isn't enough - it's time to take from auto infrastructure to give to cycle infrastructure. 011

Carl-Henrik Barnekow @stadsplanering.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Have you tracked the number of people biking too? Would be interesting to do an overlay (depending on how detailed rider data is) to see how the expansion of the actual bike network boosted number of bike riders. 000
Dexter Crisp @dextercrisp.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Bromley doing its bit there, I see, with * checks notes * one (1) bit of cycleway opened, in what the council refer to as the "trendy" part of the borough (i.e. the bit with SE postcodes that they wish wasn't in Bromley). Still, one more than Croydon and Sutton managed. 140

marcuse1w.eurosky.social @marcuse1w.eurosky.social · 12/08/2026Great success. As a long time cyclist you can really feel it. And I would guess that ULEZ helped as well. That said, Tower Hamlets 2016: 2 , 2026: 2 (on this map) On a positive note, the greatest jump for me was the City. 2016: a cars first death trap, I took detours to avoid it 2016: quite ok 170
Muzio Cordo @muziocordo.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Until you have the courage to ban HGVs from central London, ostracize SUVs, ban rubbish collection and street cleaning vehicles during rush hours and force construction workers not to behave as if they own the roads around their sites, London will still be a dangerous place for cyclists. 250
