I agree that everyone -particularly young people - needs to observe more and learn from the world around them. But, if I were World Empress, the first thing I would do before like, ending all war or solving global hunger, would be to bring back thumbscrews for anyone loudcasting in public spaces.

I would regulate the gambling thing, before I would try to remove all 16 year-olds from all social media. And, make a law that says ISPs are required to provide all subscribers with robust parental controls that work across all devices. That's where I'd start.

As injuries and deaths pile up, what should done about e-scooters? Yes, we need to regulate and enforce rules, but we also need to make more room for micromobility devices in our car-centric society, by @picardonhealth.bsky.social www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/arti... via @theglobeandmail.com

We need to regulate them, yes, but even more important is creating infrastructure to make the micromobility revolution safer

On this day in 2005, the Civil Marriage Act received Royal Assent and legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. At the time, every province and territory had legalized it except Alberta, NWT, Nunavut and PEI. Canada was the fourth country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage
A newspaper clipping shows a photo of two women lying on grass while a photographer takes their engagement picture. The caption identifies them as Kim Wilson and Carol Hall in Belleville. Below the image, the headline reads, “Same-sex supporters rejoice at new marriage legislation,” with an article about Canada’s same-sex marriage legislation and reactions from supporters and opponents.

The Vegreville Pysanka, or Ukrainian Easter Egg, isn't just a very famous roadside attraction, it is a true marvel. It influenced the design of the Space Shuttle. It was a notable first in computer modelling. Oh, and it is also a weather vane! This is its story. 🧵 1/8
Man standing outdoors beside a large decorative egg sculpture mounted on a pedestal. The egg is covered in a geometric pattern of triangles and star shapes in black, white, and shades of yellow and gold. The man wears sunglasses and a grey T-shirt, looking up toward the sculpture. In the background are trees, parked vehicles, a small building, and a flagpole under a lightly clouded sky.

Advice for your first Passover: You're going to need more eggs than you think you could possibly eat in 8 days. More than that even. And, to be on the safe side, buy some extra aluminum foil. What for? Everything!
