This list, including United Russia, certainly doesn't help USAID's case. At the time when it was reportedly receiving grants, the party had already consolidated power in Russia's parliament and was clearly anything but democratic.

Sergey Rogov dedicated a good bit of his life to trying to advance, and more lately save, prospects for arms control, even as his health declined. Always intelligent, often infuriating, and never unwilling to talk. I agree with Andrey--this is a big loss.

Not loving the English translation of Navalny's Patriot. Clearly rushed. A lot of Russianisms and stilted language. Some examples: "Article" should be "charges." "It was regularly remarked" should be "It was often said." "Have you taken leave of your senses?" is 18th century vernacular. Etc.
