My mailbox is filling up with reminders to review. Why are journals putting more pressure to review papers under 1 month? In social sciences, there's not such a rush as in medicine. Taking another month or 2 is reasonable, and leaves enough time to reviewers to deal with peak periods. ***Sigh**

In recent days, I operated on two women who were shot by quadcopters while sheltering in their tents near one of the locations, according to the people who brought them in. One was breastfeeding her child when she was hit; the second was pregnant.
Thankfully, both have survived their injuries so far.
These women weren't even seeking aid - they were simply sheltering in areas that are supposedly
"safe" but exposed to indiscriminate fire from the IDF's weaponised hunger apparatus.

I want funding bodies, reviewers and ethics boards to think about how much of the money they are approving is going to airlines and hotel companies. I want employers to rethink their criteria for employment and promotion, away from rewarding funding and flying.
