a key reason why rape culture persists is because men do not fear reprisals from *other men*. they do not expect other men to care if they raped someone. they do not expect other men to treat them poorly. they believe that most men will doubt a victim's story and demand evidence.

Some things seen while out walking.
A close up photo of a large pearly white datura flower in soft autumn afternoon light, growing near a weathered wood pole, partially covering some silver green foliage.A close up photo of a small folded paper boat made from some black and white printed paper that looks like it is a sheet from a neighborhood flyer. The bow of the boat looks like it’s been chewed on, and is slightly shredded and crumpled. The boat is resting on a gray stone or paver that borders a garden full of green, leathery-leaved shrubbery. The late afternoon light makes the scene glow a bit.

Tweed is such a beautiful fabric to wear this time of year because it produces, in Dolly Parton's phrasing, a coat of many colors. Even a solid-colored brown is not just brown, but bits of red, blue, and yellow to produce something that looks lifted off the Scottish landscape.
There are two photos taped together. The top shows a brown stone building with a brown thatched roof. It's surrounded by green grass, stone walkways, and blue-gray sea. Below is a checked brown tweed that reflects the colors in the landscape above it. There are two photos taped together. The one at te top shows a rocky hillside with green and straw-colored grass, gray rocks, and a tan sandy beach below. The blue waters are crashing at the shore. Below is a green herringbone tweed that reflects the colors in the landscape above it. There are two photos taped together. The top shows a field of green and straw colored fields with bits of purple flowers. Below is a a series of checked brown tweed that reflect the colors in the landscape above it. For like-minded friends in Portland: the image is lifted from a local fascist group promoting a disruption this Sunday at the Sports Bra. I heard good folks will stand with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to keep the Sports Bra and its workers and patrons safe. Sadly I can’t be there - can you?
An AI slop graphic exhorting the same fascists who were previously run off from the Sports Bra in Portland to try again on Sunday September 20 at 4pm. I know a number of good people who won’t stand for uninvited disruptions by fascists in our city, and who’ll join the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in helping the Sports Bra Bar and its workers and customers. Show up this Sunday before the fascists do - make some new friends, and keep Portland safe for those people who are being targeted by fascists!

The Trump administration has deported someone using the Alien Terrorist Removal Court — the first time that’s ever happened. Read on at Law Dork: www.lawdork.com/p/the-first-...
The Trump administration chose the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks to announce the first deportation carried out through use of a secretive pre-9/11 court that had never been used until this summer.
It did so in the most apt way, announcing that the case had concluded weeks earlier, and the public was only being informed about it on Friday — because that's when the administration wanted to tell the public.
