Me: "Sorry, that's my cats couch. Let me grab you a folding chair.”

Jinx the tabby bobtail cat laying on her tan couch. She has a slight smirk on her face.

For my next read, I am so tempted to break my book buying ban and order the new Rasputin book (by Antony Beevor) as it’s got some really good reviews. Anyone read it, and how did you find it? 💙📚

I’ve finished Laura Spinney’s Proto and while I admit that I sometimes found myself confused while reading this, I also really enjoyed it and found it very interesting. I’ll gladly pick up future books by her, and am sad to have finished it. 💙📚

The vet has put my cat on a diet. My cat has discovered how to open his automatic feeder. I love him dearly and he’s perfect in every way but he’s not normally very smart, so at least it’s good he’s finally using his 2 brain cells?

waiting for my mum to once again come to the rescue because why does the floor near my radiator keep being sopping wet 😭 why does my house keep breaking? why can’t it just be haunted like a cool house instead?

Oh, Onosato got emotional while listening to the national anthem, bless him! I'm so happy that he's back as a strong Yokuzuna that gets yusho. I hope that this win will take some pressure off him for a little while.

Onosatooooo!!! (with how nervous he was looking beforehand I’ll admit that I had my doubts) My fave won and that has made my day already ☺️ (also super happy that Kirishima got his KK) #sumospoilers

I’m so glad Hoshoryu is taking time off to heal, but I’m not going to lie, I do miss watching his matches. Even when he loses, they’re always a fun and interesting match.

What was with the shove after the match from Kirishima to Atamifuji? #sumospoilers although not actually a spoiler but just in case

Last year I had construction work done bc house builders messed up and some bricks were dropping. Messy, noisy, pricey, stressy. Seems like they also messed up in another room and the problem is about to happen all over again 😭 How can builders do such a shoddy job (cheap, quick build ‘60s house 😬)

Libby 🫶 @lollypoplotus.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Oh Kirishima ☹️ (I mean, on the other hand, yay, Fujiryoga won and I always root for that fellow) Wonder what’s going on with him? Rope run got into his head too much? #sumospoilers

My tastes have definitely changed. I used to read pretty much only romance books as a teen/early twenties, whereas now I am really not a romance fan and prefer mystery books and nonfiction. I’m also a lot more willing to DNF books than I used to be.

Terry Pratchett = reading slump sorted. Snugged up in bed with Going Postal. Fave Terry Pratchett book? I’m admittedly still new to them but I think it is Hogfather for me. 💙📚

DNF’d How to Get Away with Murder. I wanted to love it but the writing (weirdly not the parts written by the killer) was not good enough and I felt the descriptions of the main character’s feelings were repetitive - not in a portraying PTSD way, but a not trusting the reader to “get it” way. 💙📚

Want Kirishima to win lots of matches and become Yokozuna but also want Takanosho to win tomorrow, so who to support Decisions, decisions… Think it’ll be a match where I just hope both have a fun time 👍

Libby 🫶 @lollypoplotus.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Genuinely thought Takayasu didn’t stand much of a chance against Kirishima due to Takayasu’s seemingly hurt leg, but was pleasantly surprised to see him win ☺️ #sumospoilers

Libby 🫶 @lollypoplotus.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

but Tamawashi though 😭 Maybe it’s injuries, maybe it’s his age (horrifying to say considering he’s just a few years older than me), but hopefully he’ll manage to pick up 8 wins and keep going as long as he wants (pref forever) #sumospoilers

I love mystery books, it’s my favourite genre, but it’s a struggle at the minute as it feels like every detective has a have a tragic backstory that’s constantly referred to, & also has a conflict with a fellow detective. Just give me a good mystery without the (normally rather) boring padding. 💙📚

Was struggling with a reading slump and getting into any fiction books, so I had a bubbly bath (essential for book problem solving), and got to reading The Keep by F. Paul Wilson. I’m admittedly not a brave gal, and this is apparently one of the best horror books, so this will be interesting. 💙📚

I do Postcrossing and received a postcard from Japan with an old painting on the front of a sumo wrestling match. It absolutely made my day, and was also fascinating to see how little has changed, appearance and outfit wise, in all these years.

Seeing news that Hoshoryu says he won’t know if he’s taking part in this month’s basho until closer to the time, and that he’s already doing shiko, really makes me hope he’s not pushing himself too hard and too fast.
