We had the same with the Terra Mystica box art. People didn’t like the first version, worked over the weekend on a new option, got internal approval, worked with @logicfairy.bsky.social to create the final version over the following days Backers accused us of using AI because we were “too quick” 🫠

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:

If you think an artist's style looks like AI but you can scroll back through their portfolio and see them doing the same work before 2020, congrats, you're not looking at an AI grifter. You're looking at one of the original victims whose entire style AI stole.

Wow. LOISH got accused of using Ai to make her art. I started following her on early deviantart. I remember first seeing her paintings in college. This is ridiculous, no one is safe. Artists Ive followed for actual decades are getting harassed because their work has been stolen and regurgitated.

After these rough pen thumbnails, the client chose a few to take to the next step. I did some colour roughs and threw in a title with basic font just to test placement, but that was left to the graphic designers. I'm fond of most of these and I'm tempted to paint a few just for fun 🤣 #ChipMonks
