I appreciate this. I have been a full time programmer for 15 years. I refuse to use AI because problem solving is the fun part. Not to mention AI creates problems that a human can't solve. Being a coder means reveling in solving a problem with one line of code after looking it over for hours.

the realization that a 100% recoup into 50/50 split means the publisher will ALWAYS make more money than the developer (and is incentivized to spend more bc of the full recoup) has definitely changed my perspective on that being the bottom of the barrel pub deal (and i have heard MUCH worse!)
