I don’t think they did. They had signs stating passports were acceptable (TN has had required voter ID as long as I’ve lived here)—but they couldn’t figure out how to take it because they needed to be able to scan it and their system only took state ID cards. Even the passport card didn’t work.

At 54, my heart and blood vessels show the damage that pregnancy caused me. The days I spent pregnant, maintained on medications while they fought to get enough blood into me so Incould survive surgery, vs being able to end a known non-viable pregnancy almost certainly are part of the reason.

I made it. I lost an ovary and fallopian tube because they became glued to the uterus and were twisted to the point of being non-functional. I have severe adhesions and lived through 20+ years of pain before an amazing pelvic floor PT actually was able to reduce it a lot.

I almost died due to severe PE with HELLP syndrome at 22 weeks. 29 years ago. My state had recently passed a law restricting partial birth abortion that was worded such that it essentially was a ban on D&E. Since the meds used to prevent seizures in severe PE also prevent labor, induction failed
