Cole walked into a pharmacy on January 10, 2024, expecting to pay $66. The cost was $539.19. His daily preventative inhaler wasn't covered anymore. Five days later, on January 15, a severe asthma attack sent him into cardiac arrest. He was taken off life support on January 21.
