Here’s what ai’ve been working on during the snowstorm and aftermath. Eventually, I plan to do a full public library (and Inhave a full sized Barbie house picked from the curb that needs a lot of TLC that is intended for this project), but here’s my children’s room so far.

Calico critters figures in a children’s library in a cardboard box. Books are made from Scholastic book club flyers and packing foam, the floor is alphabet tiles, and the tables and shelves are dollhouse furniture and boxes craft wood cutouts come in. There are two closeup views and one view of the whole room.

A piece for my dollhouse. The books are made from instruction booklets with printed covers, the bookcase is a case from a set of drumstick tips. Every book in this case cannot be purchased or shelved in K-12 schools in my state. Some have been banned in state colleges and universities as well.

A small plastic set of shelves holding miniature books. Five books face out.Drama, a graphic novel for children, which includes a trans character, Forever by Judy Blume, which discusses a teen’s choice to have sex, This Book is Gay, by Juno Dawson, which provides safe sex information for the LGBT community, Animal Farm by George Orwell, and Fun Home by Allison Bechdel. Other books that can be seen include The color purple, Siddhartha, Lolita, Captain Underpants. The case holds about 150 books total.

Look who has decided to be social! She was trapped last Friday, and will be available for adoption next week at our local shelter. Still trying to get the tabby caught-we think she might be pregnant.

Oh, dear…these two are hanging out at Kroger. But we’re full and so are pretty much all the shelters and rescues. Trying to get them familiar enough that we can trap them, but after that??

Same room… What’s even more frustrating-this is my room AFTER a flood in my storage room/office, so this is only what I had on stage for a concert that wasn’t affected. Most of my percussion isn’t accessible right now. #musicteacherlife

Same room now has a music carpet, a laptop connected to the TV, a much newer digital piano, the tables have more digital pianos and other instruments on them..

Better view of the tables, which have a keyboard lab set up and deskbells for younger kids

You can see more keyboards here, plus some other small percussion

More keyboards, mallet percussion and boomwhackers

The Butterfly little free library and annex started our annual Easter egg hunt today, with lots of extra books, comics, and eggs with treats! Easter was my mother’s favorite holiday, and I started the library three years ago after she died on Easter Monday, so this is a very special occasion for me

I got a lot of nice books at a local Library sale for my #LittleFreeLibrary. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that there were three and four copies of many of these being discarded all at once.

Two boxes of books, mostly library discard picture books in excellent shape. Almost all of them are Coretta Scott King and Stonewall book award winners.

Made a few more little things to give away with dollhouses next Christmas. Information about each in alt text

Trays made from clear resin and mica powder using a cupcake container as a mold. One is empty, the other holds two cups made from erasers filled with brown resin “Cocoa” and little bits of plastic to make erasers, plus little plastic thumbprint cookies.

Four little tarts. The pans are from the trays chocolate covered cherries come in, the crust is a wood disc, and they are filled with nail polish, resin, fruit slices designed for fingernails, and foam clay whipped cream.

Little shakes made from caps with plastic bits sticking up like straws, fabric paint, and little fruit slices made of clay.

I’m so happy! I rebuild dollhouses as a hobby. Scrap materials, oops paint, toys bought in gallon bags at thrift stores-if I spent $10 each on them, I’d be shocked. Yesterday, I offered a couple of them on a local FB group, and they’re both going to little girls in foster care. I’m SO happy!!!

7 isn’t too many cats, is it? It’s really hard not to foster fail with these guys… Even Neo seems to like them (and the other three seem to be neutral). But we already have four adult former strays. Plus a python.
