4/5 around #Malvern Two details from the roof of Great Malvern Priory. These will be from Sir George Gilbert Scott's Victorian makeover, though his aim was to restore its medieval look. #photography #churchphotography
This image features a decorative wooden ceiling with painted panels. The panels display floral and geometric patterns in vibrant colors like red, blue, and white. The ceiling is framed with dark wood beams, and there are ornate golden rosettes at the intersections, adding a touch of elegance. This image shows a vaulted ceiling with a central circular design resembling a sunburst or star pattern. The ceiling is adorned with heraldic shields and golden embellishments at the intersections of the ribs. The craftsmanship suggests a Gothic or medieval style, often found in cathedrals or castles.

Baddesley Clinton #warwickshire #england #uk #gb #britain #architecture #photography #fujifilm
A symmetrical view of the historic manor house at Baddesley Clinton, Warwickshire, seen from a paved entrance bridge flanked by low, weathered red-brick walls. The central stone entrance tower features a large, multi-paned leaded window, a crenellated parapet and an arched gateway with a small red heraldic shield above it. The long, pale stone wings extend on either side beneath dark, moss-covered tiled roofs, punctuated by tall, distinctive brick chimneys and traditional mullioned windows. The gateway frames a glimpse of a further courtyard entrance beyond. Overhead, a dramatic sky of dark grey clouds and brighter patches of blue and white adds atmosphere to the scene.

flower scenes, Harewood’s hand-painted wallpaper shows Chinese rural life, including the production of rice, tea, silk and porcelain. It was later removed and stored for more than a century before being rediscovered and restored. Today, it surrounds the East Bedroom as a remarkable panoramic artwork
The East Bedroom at Harewood House is a stunning example of 18th-century Chinoiserie style. Its standout feature is the rare, hand-painted Chinese wallpaper made from mulberry bark. The panels form a single panoramic mural around the room, detailing idealized scenes of traditional Chinese industries like tea, silk, and porcelain production. Complementing the vibrant walls is exquisite green-ground lacquer furniture designed by Thomas Chippendale. Together with the grand canopy bed, the room reflects the high Georgian fascination with Eastern luxury. Image Michael D Beckwith Public Domain

A nine-photo collage of dahlias flowering in early autumn. Their colours range from deep pink, white and burgundy to peach, coral and soft pink. The flowers vary from neat, densely layered blooms to open, star-shaped and tousled forms, photographed against soft green garden backgrounds.

In 1887 the current Hammersmith Bridge replaced its predecessor, which had opened in 1827. That had been the first suspension bridge over the Thames, designed by William Tierney Clark. Sadly, the bridge is now closed to vehicle traffic due to structural problems.

Baddesley Clinton, a historic moated manor house in Warwickshire, viewed across its surrounding moat. The weathered stone and timber-framed buildings feature steeply pitched tiled roofs, tall brick chimneys and narrow leaded windows. Ivy covers part of the adjoining brick-and-stone wing on the left. The calm green water fills the foreground, with a few ducks near the centre, while trees frame the right edge. Above the house is a broad blue sky with scattered wispy clouds.
