know it has been a hot minute. I pretty much disappeared since last fall. Walked away from all institutional christianity and I wrote several books the last three months. It was very therapeutic

Happy Print Book Day to Clang! The forge is open! My debut novel is live to the world. I hope y'all enjoy it. I describe it as a cozy fantasy novel with teeth. Also full of satire, snark, and trauma informed goodness. a.co/d/07XtdQSc #cozyfantasy #fantasybooks #foundfamily

Promo graphic on a black crumpled-paper background. White handwritten text at top reads "Available now in Kindle and paperback on Amazon." Below it, the cover of CLANG! by Ember Ashworth: a red-haired blacksmith in a leather apron raises a hammer in one hand and holds a glowing blade in the other, framed by a ring of fire, with a massive dragon's head looming behind her. Title "CLANG!" in gold at the bottom, with the tagline "A Phoenix Forge Novel."

It's here. CLANG! is live. 🔥 Cozy fantasy about a forge, a found family, and a master smith who refuses to be priced. There's a cat, and he has opinions. Magic swords come from somewhere, and this is the somewhere. Kindle now, paperback next week. The forge is open. emberashworth.com

The cover of CLANG! A red-haired dwarven smith in a leather apron stands at a glowing anvil, one arm raised mid-swing with a hammer, the other holding tongs that grip a red-hot blade. Fire curls around her in a ring. Behind her in the smoke and flame, the huge shadowed head of a dragon looms, one eye glowing orange. The title CLANG! runs across the bottom in large gold letters.

All those enchanted blades and legendary weapons? Someone's gotta make them. She's snarky, brutally honest, and secretly the kindest person in the room. CLANG! A Phoenix Forge Novel. Coming this summer.

Trans healthcare trolley problem
An unknown number of trans people have been tied to one of the train tracks, while a runaway trolley is set to roll down the empty track, saving the trans people. However, that guy over there might voluntarily walk onto the train track. Do you pull the lever, sacrificing the trans people to protect that one guy from possibly making a mistake?

This whole thread is excellent, and addresses something that I didn't understand when my daughter came out as a teen. HRT isn't just about shaping the body (though that's important!), it's about giving the whole person, body & brain, what they need to work as a harmonious whole.

If you are afraid that you’re not sure you’re trans I want you to ask yourself what you are more afraid of: that you may try transitioning - and by proxy bettering yourself - and be wrong, or that you may actually be right?
