As a hospital chaplain I’m trained to recognize trauma, so I’m not exaggerating when I say this administration is doing permanent psychological damage to the country with its inhumane ICE raids and now a scheduled public execution. Our government is our emotional abuser.

Even if the Bible was inerrant (it’s not), no one’s interpretation of Scripture is inerrant so it’s really just a false appeal to certainty. Theology gets way more interesting when we set it free from having all the right answers and let it be a dialogue.

In college I received a fellowship to the Kennedy Center. It was one of the highlights of my young adult life. He can tear down that building, but he can’t stop artists from rising up to tell the story of the most destructive, narcissistic, untalented president in U.S. history.
