When my husband and I first met he asked me what I was looking for in a partner. My number 1 was and still is that my partner must be on my side. Always. My ex betrayed and lied to me so I have to know that my guy has my back in every fight. We have to be a team or what even is the point.

🧶I hear it's #Socktober week on #ShowMeYourKnits Here is my current sock wip. Yarn is hand dyed by Oshen Fibres that I picked up on holiday in their Rainbow Trout colourway. Pattern is Patio Socks on Ravelry.

Sock knitting in progress, photographed on my foot. The yarn is a soft green and pink variegated, reminiscent of a rainbow Trout. A wood floor is in the background.

One week until we move from this magical place. I will miss my early morning walks in the woods. Packing and cleaning occupy the rest of my day. I look forward to having more time for creating. Endings and Beginnings. All things must pass. #WalkInTheWoods

Terrestrial air-breathing is really metabolically efficient relative to gills, but it also creates all sorts of challenges. The air can be dirty, exposing your cells to toxins, irritants or pathogens. This is why SNOT makes life on land *possible*. Air-breathers are all about that mucus lifestyle.

🧶 Life has been very full & stressful lately. We sold our house & are packing, found a new temporary home, our dear dog passed away, we are still driving 4 hours 2x/week for my hubby's dialysis, but yes, I am still knitting. Gotta de-stress/process my feelings somehow! #FOFriday #KnitSky

My morning walks are a bit lonelier. It's been a week since our sweet Mitra passed away. When I look down to the right, I can still see her trotting along, happily sniffing all the smells. I am forever grateful for her presence in our lives, and still I sit with my grief.💔

Call me radical but I think it's violently fucked up that a digital society has been formed where artists are supposed to feel it's more important who responds positively or negatively to a topsoil social media version of themselves than the art they've spent decades breaking themselves to create.

Fire update. Apparently, the lightning strike was near an old cutblock, so ground crews were able to start working the fire first thing this morning. The smoke has already been reduced and I am so grateful to wildfire fighters that put themselves at risk for all of us.

Well, shit. Officially the start of fire season here. I can see this fire from my front porch, but it is in an uninhabited area, across the lake from us. I really hope they put it out, but generally, they let fires like this burn themselves out when there is no risk to human life.😔

Screenshot from a BC Wildfire info page showing a wildfire that started tonight. Location Powder Creek on the east shore of Kootenay Lake. The overview states that it is out of control.
