#WIPWednesday Week 7 Progress: Missed a couple of weeks, but I’m almost finished. Bad news is I’ll probably lose at yarn chicken. Good news is I can take from the body hem which I need to reknit anyway. 🧶 #Knitting #KnitSky

#WIPWednesday Week 4 progress: I was I little further on the body, but then decided I didn’t like how much it stretched, one reason I don’t like to knit on big (size 8) needles with Aran yarn. Ripped back, adding decreases, and stepping down needle size. 🧶 #Knitting #KnitSky #ShowMeYourKnits

I get a kick out of knitfluencer videos that ask, “How did you learn to knit before the internet?!?” Books, baby, books. I fucking read. I would go into B&N every couple of months and browse the latest books and magazines while drinking coffee for a couple of hours. 🧶📖 #Knitting #KnitSky

#WIPWednesday Week 3 progress: I have achieved sleeve separation! Colorwork roses are also done. The rest is just thick blue and thin white stripes. Don’t love how I can see where I increased in the top white stripes, but knit and learn. Bottom ones are better. #Knitting #KnitSky #ShowMeYourKnits

#WIPWednesday Week 2 progress: I’m about 2/3 through the roses. Still not a fan of colorwork. Aran weight yarn and 5 mm needles seem huge! My sweet spot is fingering on a 3.5 mm. My mid-Oct. finish date is totally doable. I knit that collar three times before I was happy. 🧶 #Knitting #KnitSky

I keep seeing influencer videos showing stacks of knitwear that they knit in the first half of 2026. I thought I might present a more realistic view the new or average knitter might expect to produce…. 🧶 #Knitting #KnitSky #ShowMeYourKnits

#WIPWednesday Week 1 progress: I enjoyed sharing progress on the last tank I knitted, so I thought I’d do a weekly progress report on my next project. It’s a sweater loosely based on the Rosie Yoke Sweater by Lene Holme Samsøe to match my new favorite skirt. 🧶 #Knitting #KnitSky #ShowMeYourKnits

Day 19 progress. Working on the back neck. I love doing a half twisted 1X1 ribbing when working in the round, but when knitting flat on straight needles, that P1TBL gets a bit tedious. 🧶 #Knitting #KnitSky #ShowMeYourKnits

Day 16 progress. It took me 4-5 tries, but I finally got this neck shaping looking decent. I didn’t plan well with the placement of the motifs so it took a bit of finagling. With luck, I’ll remember what I did and be able to mirror it for the other side… 🧶 🤞🏻 #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

Day 15 progress. I am about halfway through the top front, only because through sheer force of will, I have avoided ripping everything back to fix this little loop that is driving me nuts and that I missed until several rows later. I will fix it when I’m done… 🧶 #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

Day 14 progress. Bad news: I missed a day. Good news: I have achieved front/back separation! Thought I’d have to do some calculation for armhole decreases, but then realized the tank I wore yesterday was the same gauge as the one I was knitting. Counting for the win! #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

Speaking as a boomer, one thing the current generation gets right is placing boundaries between work and life. CEOs like this will NEVER appreciate you answering work texts at 10:00 at night or clocking in early to “catch up on email” but your spirit will appreciate drawing that line.

Day 10 progress. Me: I followed the directions exactly. Narrator: She did, in fact, NOT follow the directions exactly. Turns out ignoring what the * says was kind of stupid. Day 2 progress. I’m at about 2 inches of ribbing. I will do a few inches of stockinette stitch before starting the lace panel inset. I am not a particularly fast knitter since I knit English with my inflammatory arthritic hands, but I get the job done eventually. 🧶 #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

I thought I would try to document my progress on this project with one pic a day. The yarn is Euro Baby Sweetness, a DK weight yarn knit on size 6 circular Karbonz needles. It will be a tank with a simple lace panel. Day 1 results are about 1” of 1X1 half twist ribbing. 🧶 #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

It’s stockinette week on #ShowMeYourKnits. Perfect timing, as I just started a new project that will be mostly stockinette stitch with a lace yoke. At least that was the plan. Now 10-12” of row after of knitting on US size 2 (2.75mm) needles is a bit daunting. 🧶 #Knitting
