Browsing @elife.bsky.social, I found lots of candidates for this week's #Snippet at @lifescienceeditors.bsky.social, have narrowed to: 1. moths choosing where to lay eggs based on sound emitted by plant leaves elifesciences.org/articles/104...

Female moths incorporate plant acoustic emissions into their oviposition decision-making process
Acoustic ecology introduces an additional dimension in plant-insect communication, revealing that female moths use ultrasonic emissions from dehydrated plants to guide oviposition decisions.

Great story in this issue @nature.com. Shows that the regulatory region controlling digit devt in vertebrates was not copy-pasted directly from fin development. So, the "fin-to-limb transition" in vertebrate evolution isn't as clear cut as originally thought.🧪👏👇 (lovely summary btw).

Our team of former journal editors know why papers get published. So, why did the Mol Cell editors publish this?👇 We know hypoxia causes cancer. But here's a new mechanism - phase separation. Hypoxia causes phase separation of ZHX2, altering it's function so it activates metastatic genes. 👍
