I wanna make a story/game that is told exclusively through varyingly good-to-bad faith video essays/plot summaries done by youtubers who all have differing interpretations of the text. The only semi-accurate take comes from one of those Ending Explained channels because it just summarizes the plot

One of the big reasons superhero OCs often feel inauthentic when the artist tries to draw them comic book style is because so much of comic book superhero design is dictated by the constraints of the medium. (1/2)

Moving away to another platform won't do much either, because any service with enough people in it will be beholden to the same ID laws all the same, so it's useless to blame the service. The root cause here are the ID laws being passed to allow such a brazen lockdown of online spaces.

you can condemn discord for so many valid reasons and boycott or leave or whatever, but Age verification is something that is being pushed onto platforms by legislation. This will only continue to cascade onto other platforms and services, cancelling your nitro won't do shit here I'm afraid.

Like, this isn't an UNWILLINGNESS to develop media literacy; it's what media literacy LOOKS LIKE when one of the basic skills for understanding the media you most frequently engage with is correctly distinguishing the bits that actually have something to say amid a sea of vacuous algorithm-chasing.

I feel like folks expressing bafflement at younger readers approaching prose fiction by skipping everything except the dialogue think this is a problem that came out of nowhere and not a consequence of one's formative media being YouTube videos with 45 seconds of content in a 12-minute running time.
