One of the arguments that @martinlodge.bsky.social and I put forward in our essay on Brexit in JEPP a few years back was that the referendum was symptomatic of a ruling class that had lost interest in governing. Seeming unwillingness to tackle party finance rules seems consistent with that.

The UK now needs to introduce political spending limits across a parliament, not just for election campaign years. Otherwise, its election spending rules could fall over. Current rules: parties have a limit (about £34m) for 12 months before an election - but no limits outside the 12 month period.

I'd guess that just because Ukrainians are heavily outnumbered it doesn't mean the Russians are densely packed in like in Napoleonic wars. FPV drones may still be cheaper / more effective than generating sufficient bombing / shelling to achieve the same effect.

Russia killed 13-year-old Uliana Vorona from Sumy. On July 11, the girl was on her way to the city center and waiting at a bus stop when a Russian guided aerial bomb struck the road nearby. She was killed instantly. Uliana loved drawing, hoped to work in IT one day, and trained in athletics.
