Point well-made by Perry Bacon. I would add only that a young Kennedy tried to unseat Markey last round. But in Mass we've got people like Rep. Ayanna Presley, Gov. Maura Healey, & Mayor Michelle Wu. When Markey retires, we'll be looking at one of them. newrepublic.com/article/2150...

Behind every abortion is a village who made it possible: from providers and policymakers to the clinic escort who walks you to your car and the donor who keeps the lights on. Most of that work goes unseen. That's why we're highlighting a different activist every week in our new series, The Helpers.

It got drowned out in all the good news from last night, but Boston Mayor Michelle Wu became the youngest person to be reelected in the city's history. She ran unopposed because her opponent--Patriots owner Bob Kraft's son--withdrew a few months ago after realizing he had no hope of winning.

Murder is wrong. Pogroms are wrong. Using a murder to incite a pogrom against a small and vulnerable group in society is wrong. (If I’m not mistaken, an assassination was the excuse for the wave of mob but state-sanctioned violence in Russia in 1881 that gave us the term “pogrom.”)
