Every time I see a serial killer tv show advertised I think of this
My dad used to work with Ted Bundy at the University of Utah and every Friday my dad would say, "See ya Monday-Bundy" and I can't imagine how much Ted actually thought about murdering him for
it.

With respect to Andy Burnham you don't get to choose not to be the last prime minister of the uk. It's the same rules as duck, duck, goose.

It really gives the game away when the anti trans orgs are calling the election of the neo nazi party in Germany a "glimmer of hope."
A screenshot of an online article headline from "Inspecting Gender" by Genspect. The main heading reads: "Germany: A Glimmer of Hope for Sex Realists?" Below the title, the summary text asks: "Is the victory of the AfD in Germany a dark day for democracy or a glimmer of hope for sex realists? By David Allison." The bottom metadata displays the Genspect logo, "5 hours ago," and a "Listen" audio option button. In the top right corner, there is a teal "Subscribe" button alongside a circular profile avatar.

This is only true if they only build *a few* nuclear submarines. Flood the market and the price would drop significantly - that's basic supply and demand economics - allowing us to all own a nuclear submarine.

Ballpoint pen on paper. A man in his PJs is tucked into his bed. He's upset because the bed has been lifted off the ground by a pack of small, mischievous creatures. We can only see 9 of them in the image but there are likely many more since they're all working together to lift the heavy bed frame. As the creatures run with the bed they chant, "hup hup hup hup hup hup hup hup hup." The man in the bed wants no part of this. "Put me down. No more hups," he says. It's unclear where they are going or what is happening. There is no punchline. There is little to no context. You're either with the hup team or you're out. Thank you for reading these.

People will dismiss Malcolm Offord claiming that more than half of Scots are unemployed, but as the parent of a child out of work I really think it's serious. My daughter's been unemployed for almost three years and it's been really hard. There are so many barriers for toddlers getting into work!

As far as violence against women and girls is concerned, the Programme for Government amounts to the misogyny bill they refused to do last session, a public health campaign, and support services being told to wait until Budget time to see what apparent funding commitments look like in reality.

Visiting Srebrenica was one of the defining moments of my life. It’s a strange thing today to see all the celebrations over the death of Mladic while the world is still, largely, turning a blind eye to genocide.

There's a tv show where they say they "make the impossible possible". Unfortunately the two year old has got this mixed up and started pleasantly announcing "its time to make the possible impossible!" Seems oddly apt.

I'd say "contactless payments come to America" has the potential to be about three days of transatlantic bluesky content, possibly taking in US aversion to automatic speed cameras and something about food consumption.

Was starting to get slightly grumpy at the fringe tourists earlier, till a wee boy on the bus saw Arthur's Seat and just lost his mind completely. "MUM WHAT IS THAT??" "It's a hill I think" "It's a MOUNTAIN!!" "OK, it's a mountain" "WHY IS THERE A MOUNTAIN??" Yes, indeed, why is there a mountain???

I refused to meet up with any of the couples from our NCT class afterwards & to be honest it's one of my greatest parenting regrets. I'd love to track how they are now - the guy who wanted to ban his partner from painkillers, the woman who used 'gaming' as her solution to everything, they were awful

It’s the 88th anniversary today of this immensely enjoyable headline 🧵
12 boys rout fascists
Twelve boys, some of them less than 10 years old, went to Weymouth beach and barracked Mr Robert Saunders, a Fascist speaker.
He ignored them, so they went away and returned with toffee tins half filled with stones.
Using the tins as rattles, they made so much noise that Mr Arthur England, a 63-year-old Weymouth magistrate and superintendent of the beach, approached to stop them.
A crowd of holiday-makers, sympathising with the children, booed Mr England and a sock filled with sand caught him behind the ear.
In the sand battle that followed, the Fascists were pelted off the beach.
About 5,000 people followed them to their car, overturned the trailer attached it, and filled the loud speaker equipment with sand.

If Andy Burnham wants to end rough sleeping he will need to change his approach to No Recourse to Public Funds, which enforces destitution, and is the single biggest cause of rough sleeping (in Scotland, anyway). But that would seem at odds with his support for the asylum bill last week.
