In the UK, only individuals on the electoral register should be allowed to donate to parties or candidates. No companies. Annual donations capped at say £2000, with all donations over £500 published on a register. Party spending should be capped. Abuses should be harshly dealt with by criminal law.

As with the courts, social care, the prisons, policing, schools etc. - fund the NHS properly from taxation so it has the resources it needs to do the job. Or choose not to. If you choose not to then you own the consequences.

The BBC has long given up even pretending to be interested in who these people are, why they are coming or how they might feel, in favour of acting as a kind of shop window for the parties to display their wares of violence and cruelty

In his riposte to Suella Braverman, Jacob Rees-Mogg states “...the English / British civilisation is the finest civilisation the world has ever seen, did an amazing job in civilising barbarous parts of the world...” As anyone from India or Ireland can tell us, that is ahistorical and racist.

Why is the UK trying to insert itself into Canada's conversation with the EU like a annoying drunk in a pub? Why is Blair saying we should rejoin but only if foreign johnny EU member states reform it to suit us? Delusions of grandeur. Until this mentality is purged we're heading nowhere.

What's particularly odd about the coverage (besides y'know, all of it) is that one qualified nurse being sacked is way less important than a qualified doctor being hounded out of the profession.

Worth noting — as most coverage omits it — that Peggie called Dr. Upton "a freak", "a weirdo" and "it". Peggie said she would like to post bacon to a mosque. Peggie reacted to news of deaths in flooding in Pakistan by saying "What goes around comes around, they've been flooding Britain for years."

As the government are leaning on the police not to act on these offences when the far-right commit them, presumably they won't want to act against Talk for inciting those same offences.

Either the UK government is: 1. Scared to confront the far-right; or 2. In agreement with the far-right. I don’t think it’s 2. I think they are absolutely terrified to do what they know is right because they believe we’re all racists. It is utterly shameful.

If the dingy were inside an Elbit systems factory and destined for the IDF then Tommo would be in custody right now on terror charges, remanded for 6 months with limited access to visitors and staring down the barrel of a 5 year stretch. This is why I left Labour, and it's why I won't be returning.

I don't support or oppose Scottish independence as I'm not Scottish and I don't live in Scotland. If the Union is voluntary then it's for Scottish people to make that decision. The idea that my MP in s. England gets to veto their choice is repugnant. If it isn't voluntary then we are compelling them

Extremely irresponsible and in my view frankly offensive to the very many people killed and injured in those conflicts, which were fundamentally ethno-religious in nature, and involved a significant amount of othering and dehumanisation of people because of their ethnicity and/or religion.

Half the electorate support indy so labelling their views as akin to Mladic is pretty stupid. It's also a fact that independence supporters are substantially more progressive than pro-union supporters, especially on immigration. A good fifth of LD supporters support indy, so he's libelling them too.
