When I assign analysis, I am not trying to extract a polished product; I am trying to put the student’s mind through resistance in order to make it stronger. Offloading the struggle to a chatbot does not “free students up for higher-order work.” It deprives them of building the strength to do any substantial cognitive work at all.

This still leaves trans people in the position of having to pay out of pocket for any surgeries we need, or find a clinic that'll work with us once we've already transitioned for several years. It's farce and theater; doctors want to gatekeep transitions and are apoplectic when they can't.

Many transition via DIY resources. I've never seen an endocrinologist or a psych because I don't want to go through a combative and adversarial diagnostic process to access what I need. The healthcare risks are along the lines of "increased risk of breast cancer because I have breasts now."
