Calling me transgender is technically correct, and this has been true from the moment I was born. However, it places the emphasis on my past body/mind misalignment, and neglects the fact that this is mostly a solved issue for me.

The term transsexual is both precise and informative. It makes clear both who I am and the actions I take to live with dignity.

I aspired to change my sex the moment I learned it was possible. I became a practicing transsexual the moment I put my first pill under my tongue.

I am transgender; but more precisely, I am transsexual. Both terms describe me, but transsexual fits better. So that is what I call myself.

If you are unsure what to call yourself, ask what is more important to you: the fact of your body and mind being out of alignment (either currently or in the past), or the fact that you are making active steps to fix this misalignment? Which fact do you want to have emphasized?

I think I saw the article you're talking about and it's like... there wasn't a values judgement to different experiences of being trans. It was about, afaik, like, different experiences being worthy of precise language. Kinda like this? Idk... there's clearly different needs that should be seen.

3” Liberated Me
“Fuck.” I really don’t want to go to jail. My recently-repaired 2011 Ford Escape isn’t starting. I am in
a very expensive parking lot downtown, and I’m almost out of time before I have to pay with no
money in the bank. My rig has rusted fenders, but has otherwise been dependable since I
purchased it about 6 months ago. The culprit? The thing I just fixed- the starting circuit-relay
wasn’t properly connected to the ignition wiring harness. “Why did I do this to myself?”, I ask, and
nobody but me could possibly answer. And, no one did.
So, there I am, with the clock ticking. I’m in the middle of downtown Denver and stuck with a
disabled car. Luckily, I have most of my tools with me. “Most” being the operative term. I don’t
have my set of wire spools, my heat shrink gun, or my better wire strippers- I left all of those at
the makerspace, which isn’t that far- it’s a 10 minute drive from where I currently am, but calling a
tow truck isn’t an option.
I decide to do the only thing I can do- attempt a repair from the parking lot. The problem?

Women’s studies was supposed to undermine patriarchal social order and provide women with language, resources, and knowledge to fight back. For that intention, it was murdered. In the rotting corpse of women’s studies departments across the country, there are “gender and women’s” or sometimes “women’s and gender” studies departments- shambling around in the place carved out for feminist academia.

This rotting zombified flesh carries the face of women’s studies and the corpse of feminism. The dark power animating it isn’t magic, but patriarchy. The knowledge produced therein is infectious and toxic, and it obfuscates its toxcity by legitimizing patriarchal discourses that paint trans women as infectious. The crimes of gender studies are both the further marginalization of trans women and the blaming of trans women for their marginalization.

If gender studies could look in a mirror, it would see the face of feminism- rotted, cracked. If it could look in a full-body mirror, it would see that it is, in fact, a patriarchal puppet. Good thing, then, that social structures and institutions can’t be forced to look in a mirror like regular humans can!

Alright.... here's another scene from that screenplay I'm working on. It's got a working title now: "Resistant to Revolution" Yes, the yellow smoke is, in fact, tear gas.

Jessica and Pamela are together in front of a large crowd that has gathered in what appears to be a peaceful protest. There’s hundreds, if not over a thousand people gathered around the safety barricades the police put up in front of the municipality capitol building.
Both Jessica and Pamela are sharing a single megaphone and talking to the crowd. Pamela’s jacket has patches on it now.
A pause in speaking, and it the megaphone becomes solely Pamela’s, she starts shaking her fist in a pattern as she continues to speak into the megaphone. The crowd starts shaking their fists or clapping in sync with Pamela.
Suddenly, and without warning, thick yellow-ish smoke starts rising from the center of the crowd and chaos breaks out. Some people run, others push forward, more still start coughing and trying to cover their faces.
A trio of canisters from 3 different angles fly into the now panicked crowd. More yellow-ish smoke starts spewing up. The chaos turns into collective rage- people stop running around and start moving in unison towards the barricaded capitol building.
They start to bang on the doors and windows. Jessica has disappeared from the area she was speaking to the crowd from. Pamela is stuck in the middle of the crowd, a look of horror and guilt on her face as the mass of people gathered push forward and make her have to back up towards the building, or get trampled.

GARY, 45, enters and immediately sits in the exact middle of the long edge of the table, he is wearing a dapper business suit and seems to be the wealthiest of them all- as he is wearing a gold watch and has diamond cufflinks.
NES, 19, is the final of the trio who entered. Nes is obviously wearing a binder- as there is no other shirt over their binder, and corduroy shorts. Gary takes a seat as Nes enters, and finally, Nes sits diagonally across from Jessica.
It appears that Jessica introduces Nes to Gary, as Jessica gestures to both of them, says something, and then those two stand up from their seats, lean over the table, and shake hands.
Mouths can be seen moving, it appears a conversation is trying to begin. Jessica and Gary both start speaking almost simultaneously. Gary stops, Jessica continues. When Jessica is done speaking, Pamela nods her head in apparent agreement.
Billy and Nes are visibly angry. Both start shaking their heads in apparent disagreement. Gary is motionless, clearly watching but not contributing to the conversation, even as it now appears to be getting heated.
Pamela gets up. She is trying to leave the room, but is stopped by Jessica- who grabs her arm and says something to Pamela. Pamela sits back down. As she is seated again, Billy and Nes start to leave the room. Nobody tries to stop them.
