Greens were - sadly - never going to win this one but a 22% spike is not to be sniffed at and further evidence of why Labour need to pull further left and not right if they went any sort of electoral security.

I bought Red Doc when it came out and I still don't know what it means but, whatever it is, it's amazing. Totally unique poet and brilliant thinker. A huge inspiration to me. Justly deserved recognition.

The thing with this is that EVERYTHING was frightening as a kid. There was a level of threat and grotequerie to so many incidental things in kids media because it didn't patronise. I loved being terrified by a weekday cartoon. Most pop culture today feels toothless or irony-poisoned by comparison.

"Boy, they're not kiddin' are they?" It's a quote but it's so innocuous most people don't know it's a quote so it's just for me 😊

The Sun hasn’t made a profit for years. The Telegraph just had to be flogged off. And so on.
The ability to pour hundreds of millions of pounds into a loss-making TV channel, bent on wrenching British politics sharply to the right, is yet another of the ways in which extreme wealth is trying to remake UK democracy.
It needs to be part of any serious conversation about political funding.

Shame on the BBC for having spent the last two decades platforming this fash garbage and thus normalising it. No wonder we have blackshirts marching in the streets.

Genuinely flabbergasted by the Jacob Geller allegations. Combined with the Cornell campus news and the allegations against the majority of elected representatives, the world feels pretty unjust right now.

I'm sorry. the real ai psychosis is not people who use ai; it's the people who truly believe that a software program, which is designed to do what you tell it to do, actually has not only a mind of its own, but also a deep seated desire to wipe out humanity please return to ur senses or get therapy

Tonally at least, there is no place for the Muppets in our current hellscape, which is why repeated attempts at reboots fail. Joy is not a part of the public lexicon, and family viewing is essentially dead thanks to 'second screening', both elements key to the original's success.

It's so frustrating that when the so-called sensible people complain that "republican voters are stupid" or whatever it's glossed over that people like Orden can just straight up lie to millions on TV completely unchallenged. If this is all you see why wouldn't you believe it?

For #WorldSuicidePreventionDay it's worth remembering suicide prevention is a structural, systemic and societal issue. Merely blaming mental illness amd individualising the problem absolves the State and corporate forces that make life unlivable for so many people today.

Another example of how Bluesky just doesn't understand its own platform. "Mamdani's Influencers drew scrutiny" from one bad faith argument in a right wing paper, meanwhile the whole of Bluesky is laughing at it, knowing it's nonsense.

It takes you 20 paragraphs to get to the part of the article where they admit that Mamdani isn't paying the influencers and the reason they are posting videos of the stuff Mamdani is doing is because people are interested in watching it.
The mayor’s office says that it does not pay the influencers. Still, their proximity and access to a figure as popular as Mr. Mamdani can help increase their own social media following and, by extension, potentially put them in a position to attract paid content sponsorships from commercial brands. Some influencers said that when they feature Mr. Mamdani, the videos get more likes and viewers watch longer.

The 'State of Play' from Playstation is that they're taking a wildly successful brand and are going to tank it all by pricing out the majority of their user base and preventing the rest from accessing things they purchase. So depressing. Console gaming is dead.

Fuck Keir Starmer. Seriously. A distillation of all the worst career politician PMs we've had. Like Cameron "tum-tee-tumm"-ing his way out of office, Starmer throws himself a parade as he leaves office like he's some sort of champion, then quits public service altogether to make a private fortune.
