I've been around video games my whole life so there isn't one game that got me hooked early on but there is one game that blew my tiny little mind and changed the way I looked at games thereafter. And no one remembers it lol.

Jim Aparo's version of Batman is the one I grew up with and is still the one I love the most. Happy Batman Day to any who celebrate.

Another example of how Bluesky just doesn't understand its own platform. "Mamdani's Influencers drew scrutiny" from one bad faith argument in a right wing paper, meanwhile the whole of Bluesky is laughing at it, knowing it's nonsense.

Toss up between these two: Redwall by Brian Jacques or The Dark Portal by Robin Jarvis. They are both about mice lol

'Legend' isn't a good movie but Curry made it memorable through his performance. 'Clue' is my favourite of his films but this image as the Lord of Darkness is burned into my brain

This is what I mean. This is simply just horseshit. He did no such thing. He is historically unpopular, revealed the corruption at the core of the party that he benefitted from and won the election by default with fewer votes than his predecessor. A mendacious prick who I am glad to see go.

It's #portfolioday and book publishing is trending so I feel like it's worth reminding you that I am the author of four books - two non-fiction, two fiction - available in paperback and ebook and I would love it if you read them. Leocookman.com/books

45 years ago the best film ever made came out. Raiders of the Lost Ark is my favourite and probably always will be. Nothing makes me feel more like a kid again than this trilogy. Thanks to Spielberg, Lucas and team for making the perfect movie.

First example I've seen of a company stepping back from splashing every bit of marketing with AI and referring to "machine learning" instead. Expect to see more ads like this.

Youtube pop-up advertisement for Mac's Safari browser with the tag line "A browser that's actually private. / Safari fights tracking with machine learning."

Given the current hellscape I want to talk about nice things so... Played through all of this last night and I haven't laughed so much in ages. Made me very homesick too. Phenomenal piece of work. It's on sale on Switch right now. Go and get it. I insist.

Remembering Dr. John, my musical hero, who died on this day seven years ago. A master of the 88. Just a sample of my collection of his work. I highly recommend a listen today.

"Disguised as a school". The show received a record number of complaints and (without any sense of self reflection or irony) the British media lambasted the show and its writers. The News of the World even going so far as to publish their names and demanding they never work in TV again.

In 2001, Channel 4 in the UK broadcast a special episode of Chris Morris' satirical current affairs show 'Brass Eye'. Subtitled 'Paedogeddon' it was an excoriating parody of the hysterical fear mongering the British media were indulging in at the time. Throughout the 90s Murdoch's outlets and (1/)

Rob Reiner directed one of the best films ever, with one of the greatest sword fights, choreographed by legend Bob Anderson (RIP), in a film written by my favourite screenwriter, William Goldman (also RIP). Rob deserves all the praise today.
