1/ 💷 Got an idea for Leith? There’s up to £5,000 available, but the deadline is close. Applications for the latest round of Leith Chooses close on Monday 12 October. It is participatory budgeting, which means local groups apply and people across Leith vote for the projects they want funded.

Yes - broadly similar request submitted (15 September) to "provide a detailed update on the status of the bridge" including "the condition of the bridge, its closure, the diversion and the future repair/replacement of the bridge" & also to request a Council officer attends the next NTBCC meeting.

1/ 🚧 St Mark’s Path bridge: still closed, still waiting for answers There was frustration at Monday night’s LCCC meeting about the continuing closure of the bridge. The concern is also the lack of clear information about what failed, options considered and speed of reopening

1/ 🧵🚧 Dalmeny St/Leith Walk junction - is it working properly for everyone using it? There have been several repair attempts since completion of the tram line. The repairs have been temporary, and the problem keeps returning because they're shallow, affected by vibration from passing vehicles.

🌳 Really fab to stop by the redesigned Dalmeny Street Park tonight to see it basking, and speak to folk about the impact it's had as an improved shared space. I'm incredibly grateful to all the Leith volunteer residents and schoolchildren who took part in it over the last year.

📍 1/ Planning update: short-term lets and planning loophole At our last meeting, Cllr @jackrmcaldwell.bsky.social spoke about a frustrating loophole in the short-term let system. Currently, if a short-term let has a licence and a planning application in progress, it may be able to continue trading
