On Friday I saw an identically dressed person try to force the door off a cigarette butt disposal bin attached to a wall in West Register Street. Bent it but didn’t succeed in getting access.

Agreed we need to get the bridge open ASAP. And we need to identify the underlying problems to prevent them reoccurring - that includes querying the Council decision making around design, installation, maintenance and inspection. That requires Council Officers to be open and transparent.

The @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social have no data on the value of this bridge. They have no data on how many people use it, or its value as access to St Mark’s Park. How can the Council make decisions about repair/replacement when they clearly don’t understand the difference between cost & value ?
