Es ist so wenig überraschend wie verantwortungslos: "Aus Regierungskreisen wird bestätigt, Klima- und Umweltfragen seien nicht Thema im NSR. Eine Strategie, welche geopolitischen Risiken der Klimawandel mit sich bringe, gebe es im Kanzleramt bisher nicht." (Berlin Table)
Nationaler Sicherheitsrat: Klimakrise ist offenbar kein Thema. Im neuen Nationalen Sicherheitsrat der Bundesregierung (NSR), der die Risiken für Deutschlands Sicherheit analysieren soll, wird die globale Klimakrise keine zentrale Rolle spielen. Obwohl in der Vergangenheit Klima- und Sicherheitsaspekte bei Politik und Experten als eng verbunden galten, wird diese Perspektive im Nationalen Sicherheitsrat, den das Bundeskabinett in dieser Woche einsetzen will, nur ein Randthema sein.

Der NSR soll laut Regierung einen „360-Grad-Blick“ für Lagebilder liefern und „auch mittel- und langfristige Bedrohungslagen identifizieren“, so die Regierung. Die ständigen Mitglieder des Gremiums sind unter dem Vorsitz des Bundeskanzlers die Ressortchefs für Finanzen, Auswärtiges, Inneres, Verteidigung, Wirtschaft, Digitales, Justiz, Entwicklungszusammenarbeit und der Chef des Kanzleramts. Andere Kabinettsminister können „anlassbezogen hinzugezogen“ werden, heißt es. Aus Regierungskreisen wird bestätigt, Klima- und Umweltfragen seien nicht Thema im NSR.
